Well, a budget would help. A good set of Paulsons can cost well in excess of $1 per chip. If you want good stuff I'd start there.

For a fraction of that cost you could go with standard "dice" style chips with some kind of gold stamp, which discourages people bringing in chips from elsewhere.

Let's say we are looking for 1000 chips. The best chips are going to cost around $1000, for example Paulson's. The cheapest are going to be $30-$40 and are going feel like they cost that.

For me, a good bang for your buck chip is the Nexgen chip. There are a couple of styles that are close in price but you can generally find 1000 chips and case for $150-$250.

For just the chips? or everything includ. other stuff?

What are "nice" chips to you? How many players? Tourney and cash, or just one type?

Too many open questions right now to answer well

Screw the budget. I will eat my shorts if somebody has a negative thing to say about these:

This is a nice resource for buying poker chips. Has reviews for the chips and links to most of the online retailers.

For over $1/chip you can get pretty much whatever you want. You can even create your own custom design (for clay chips should be close to your budget for custom, for ceramics I am sure you can get custom for under your budget).

They're cheaper here.

Also, the mold and inlays are ugly. They have nicer Paulsons with a better mold and better inlays (or hotstamps), with more variety in the edge spot design for the same price (or cheaper). I bought these.

Start munching.

If it is the new tophat and cane set, then this is actually the the set, which has the exact same mold and edgespots as your set, plus pretty cool non-round inlays.

Check out homepokerchips.com for some nice semi custom chips. I think they might be in your price range. They're Chipco so they're going to be ceramic.

Another source with lots of info is homepokertourney.com
