Villain is a straightforwards seeming TAG - do you like my river vb size and what is the worst hand you vb here? |
Re: Valuebet checkup
Looks good, I might just shove though. TT is thin, 99 is a check.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
Not a fan of a shove, this is fine, sometimes you'll cut yourself though, so be it. Its definately +EV
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
Yes, I like the bet and I'd probably do it with TT as well.
Villian has AK like 90% of the time here... |
Re: Valuebet checkup
I don't like a shove, this looks good IMO. Anywhere in that ballpark # seems fine.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
This is definitely at the bottom of my range for vbetting (mostly because I'm not calling with TT when it is 3bet as a default.)
looks good. Also as far vbetting size I'd probably make it more like 71. cts talked about making your valuebet's low #s (70/71/72) and your bluffs higher numbers (66/67/68/69). that's just nitpicking though |

Bet 20, call a shove

Re: Valuebet checkup
might make a smaller river bet (~40?) ... I don't think he's calling $66 here with something you can beat.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
if i was gonna bet i would probably bet alot bigger. the only way a decent TAG is gonna pay you off is if he makes a hero call against a perceived attempt to buy the pot.
i would probably bet $100 ish. he is gonna fold mostly but may call with TT or maybe 99. JJ is pretty much the worst hand i will value bet here, as if you bet with TT you may get looked up by JJ |
Re: Valuebet checkup
Shove because it looks like a bluff?
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
I like it.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
but if he's thinking, he should probably realize that your bet looks vb-ish given the amount.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
Who cares if it looks like a bluff, the only hand that can call that bet is a strong one, shoving is total newb IMO.
I don't think anyone is making a hero call to a shove, tinybet/callshove is way better then shoving. |
Re: Valuebet checkup
i don't even like the bet. anything worse is an ez fold for him if he considers what you're calling the flop and then betting the river with, and he could play a queen like this.

Re: Valuebet checkup
I like to make it a little bigger. It seems to me that the smaller ones dont get called as often. Might just be my imagination or something. Maybe opponents just think that looks like a 'call me bet' and then fold. I dunno...
I like $85 or $90 better. |
Re: Valuebet checkup
ne1 check behind?>
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
I don't like bet $20 call shove because what you're doing seems so transparent in position. Now if you were OOP it's a different story.

[/ QUOTE ] Vs most of the TAGfish players at Party I think this is better than a bigger amount because it gives them ebtter odds for them to say 'I has TT I cawl!' Out of curiosity is a check bad or is this always a bet? |
Re: Valuebet checkup
Check vs total vaginas that won't valuebet AQ/KK(they exist).
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
bleh, maybe with your image. depends on villain/history/game flow etc.
i like 20/call shove though |
Re: Valuebet checkup
I'd rather bet the turn an check river.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
Seems like KQ/QJ are a big enough part of his range that this sucks? It's not like you represent a bluff here either.
|
Re: Valuebet checkup
Straightforward TAG 3-betting an UTG raise with KQ/QJ. Not often, not a big part of his range here at all if you ask me.
