Beat: My SS has been stolen
So I turned 18 today and headed to the bank to open a checking account so I can get an ePassporte account so I can play poker online. The bank gets my info and runs it. Then the lady comes back and looks at me funny and says, "can I see your SS card?" I say sure. She looks it over and compares it to the form. Then she looks at me and says, "do you know caitlyn palmer?" I said no, and the lady then procedes to inform me that my SS number has been being used since at least 05 for a bank account and that there was a problem with Check Systems (a company that protects financial institutions against people that dont pay off their debts) and that my SS number was in their system but since I had the ID they would open my account but it is restricted and I cant get a debit card for six months.

Variance: the lady was able to get a mortgage using my SS number and her name, how the [censored] does that happen. I'm calling the credit bureau tomorrow as that must surely be a mistake but wtf...
