Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
I did
love the Utes here |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
BTW---I like the title work, but I still think the spread/total is a key part of my titles FWIW
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Sorry bout that, good point. I am on the Utes too.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
i'm sold, but which direction does this line move between now and kickoff? it has already dropped a little from the opener, but barring an organized move on utah, we can probably get something like utah +15 -105 at kickoff at select books
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Definitely liking the Utes here.
LOU actually started to tackle a few people last wk vs. NCSt. But will it continue? I heard that tackling is kind of important in football. |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Yeah, you can get 15 already.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
i want a discount, but i guess with pinny down at +14, i should bet now
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Me too. I got 14.5, and loves it.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
+15 Bodog. 1 unit.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Utah was blanked by UNLV @ UNLV 27-0. Their only other away game they were beat 24-7 by Oregon St.
You all seem to love Utah, can you explain your reasoning other than Louisville's Defense has been horrible? Also, how in the heck can Utah lose to Oregon St. 24-7, then crush UCLA 44-6 (turnovers helped for sure). Oregon St. lost ot UCLA 40-14! Talk about inconsistent teams, lol. Anyway, anybody care to analyze further? |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Utah is horrible on the road. I'm not sure where all this Ute s support is coming from either.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
FYI: Louisville running back George Stripling has been suspended for Friday night's game against Utah for violating team rules.

FYI: Louisville running back George Stripling has been suspended for Friday night's game against Utah for violating team rules. [/ QUOTE ] On the stat sheet the Cards have a back in front of Stripling and two behind him with more yards per carry and more TDs so I'm going to stick with my first pick. The Utes are big road dogs with flees for this reason, they sux on the road. They have scored exactly 7 points on the road this year and the Cards haven’t scored less than 35 at home. I lay the 14.5 and won’t be surprised if they double cover with something in the 47-17 range. Cards -14.5 2 units GS |

Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
I'm on Louisville as detailed in my personal thread. I honestly think that home advantage is worth over a TD with these two teams and the situational factors in play.

Actually for some reason I lauged, and I never laugh at this forum because everyone's pretty much a bunch of douche bags in unclever ways.

Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Utah +15.5 @ L'Ville bet 1.09u to win 1u

Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Most of Utah's road dog covers came from 2003 or earlier when they had a different coach and completely different players. From 2004 on, they're 2-3 ATS as a road dog, and in the only remotely similar spot where they actually had to travel across country, they lost to North Carolina by 14 as a 4 point dog.

Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Longest TD o52.5 yards for Utah/L'ville bet 1.1u to win 1u
Utah has gone over this mark 2 times in 5 games L'ville has had over 11 TDs of this length in 4 seperate games of the 5 they played It seems that L'ville is the important factor here with their offensive scheme, defensive blown assignments, and special teams plays. |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
Darrell Mack o19.5 rush attempts for Utah @ L'Ville bet 1.15u to win 1u
Mack was injured and didn't play the first game, but has seen his time and prominance increase with every game since Air force 7 for 25 UCLA 19 for 107 UNLV 21 for 89 Utah St 26 for 132 so, he's been healthy for 3 games and over that number twice with an increasing trend L'Ville's rushing D is very avg...#55 in yarpg and 4.47 ypc... even though their schedule hasn't been very hard (Murray St, Middle Tenn St, Kentucky, Syracuse, NC St) plus, the Utah scheme will call for lots of Darrell Mack from here [ QUOTE ] So, with no obvious flaws in the Louisville offense and an unproven Utah defense on his hands, just how does Whittingham plan to stop the Cardinals' high-power attack? "I don't know if you try to stop it so much as you try to slow it down," Whittingham said. "You just try to keep it from going crazy on you. The best place for their offense is on the sidelines, so the more time our offense is on the field, the more likely we are to win." The emergence of Darrell Mack at running back will surely help the Utes as they try to play ball control offense against the Cardinals. Last week, the junior rushed the ball 26 times for a career-high 132 yards and a touchdown in a 34-18 win over Utah State. Whittingham expects Mack to take on a much larger role this week against Louisville. "We will be giving them a heavy dosage of Darrell Mack this week," Whittingham said. If the Utes can't control the clock, the Cardinals will likely do what they've done this entire season -- score points in bunches. Then all Utah can do is try to keep up. "They usually win shootouts," Whittingham said. "That's something that's impossible to avoid sometimes when you're playing an offense that's as high-octane as they are. But the ideal situation for us is to not get into a shootout." [/ QUOTE ] PLus, L'ville is still working on overcoming the loss of Willie Williams at LB |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
I'd like to get Louisville at -14 but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Utah @ Louisville U62 Purely a numbers play. |

Utah +15.5 @ L'Ville bet 1.09u to win 1u [/ QUOTE ] Hate being on the opposite side as you. Even though your season hasn't been what you thought it was, I still follow your (multi-unit) picks. Too much telling me to go with Louisville tonight, though. |
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
it's +++++ev to go against my one unit spread plays
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
if you want to risk pissing off a sportsbook... some have props on Urritia still up
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
What was the violation again? Why is Louisville only allowed to play with 10 men on defense this year?
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
How is a mountain west team doing this?
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
The crowd already taken out of the game. In fact, booing. Utah ML was probably a good play.
|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%

|
Re: %%% Fri Nite Utes v Louisville Thread %%%
how can LV still be blowing assignments on pass coverage
that 3rd and 8 pickup was ridic BTW...ggogogogogogogogo MACK too bad they ruled that lateral a pass to him and the QB botched the snap on an off tackle right to Mack....he has 8 carries already, but could have more |
