Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

Please feel free to use this thread to post quick questions, make suggestions, ask if FTP is down again, give off-topic information, etc, etc, especially if you don't think it's worth making a new thread for a simple question or comment.

There's a link to it in the top sticky so you can find it easily at any time.

Thanks.

what is going to be this year's October blowup to the poker economy?

2006 was UIGEA
2005 was party cutting off the rakeback skins (empire, eurobet, multipoker, etc)

so, what is going to dramatically effect us this October?

pokersites only allow people to continue playing if they play more than 1.5k hands a day

The minimum buy-in gets raised and shortstackers disappear forever.

yeah...that would affect me for a few days...then it's back to full stacking

then again, it's tough not to short with IanBarns at the table---you were there for some of our tangles, right?

1 out of roughly 3 times opening up the Zoo a person finds 4/4 of the first posts to be something to the effect of FTP sucking

<strike>That's good to hear, because every time someone writes something that isn't worth reading, dozens of people end up having to read it, because it's there, even though it may be total and illogical nonsense.

If we can keep all the random posts that people do make in the Zoo in this thread, then people will gradually realise the thread isn't worth the effort taken to open and read it, and in time there will be no random or nonsensical posts made anywhere in the Zoo as the makers themselves won't even open this random post thread to post in it.

Good times.</strike>

Edit: Ignore above. Please post away. Especially the poster called cunning.

2008 - Big casinos move into online gaming. Buy out FTP/PS/PG
We all complain about rake increases/lack of CS.

When did WPEX change to 75% RB? Has this caused anyone to stop playing there? Seems like this would thin out the site a bit.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I don't play there and I just noticed it.

I spend quite a bit of time at the site and haven't been experiencing any issues the last few days. If the problem persists fire an e-mail off to stoxpoker.support at gmail.com, it's possible that you may be getting routed to the wrong server.

The minimum buy-in gets decreased and only shortstakcers are allowed to play (like on True poker)

Can someone explain the reason people trade funds?

Is this something specific to US players? I can't figure out the advantage over just using a e-wallet and moving the funds over and this is bothering me.

Klinzmann 10-06-2007 09:53 PM

Re: Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

What e-wallet do you expect them to use?

Edit: Since Neteller there hasn't been any good stable e-wallets for US people.

Henry17 10-06-2007 09:56 PM

Re: Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

That was why I asked if it was a US player thing.

Re: Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

yes, it is a us player thing.

rumour has it that some people might not have accounts in their own name, which might be another reason.

Re: Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

Rather than start another worthless thread can anyone give me a decent answer to this question?

I recently moved a small amount of money to full tilt to see how I liked playing there.
I didn't move much at first so have played just some small sngs and PLO10 at Tilt since the beginning of the month.

So here's my question. And yeah it took me thru the end of the week to notice this...
If the rake on a $23 pot at stars in PLO is $1.15 and Full Tilt took $2 out of a $23 pot tonight, remind me again why I should be trying to play at full tilt?

Edit: note I play regularly at stars and couldnt figure out what was bothering me for a while during the play at Tilt this week until I went back and looked thru some HHs... and sure enough its a ridiculous difference in rake.
Since I've only played plo10 at Tilt I have no basis of comparison for the 25 and 50 games yet.

BradleyT 10-07-2007 08:26 AM

Re: Zoo Chat - October - Random posts go here

I think on FTP it depends on what limit you play as to whether the rake is 10% or 5%.

http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/rake.php is supposed to be the rake page but none of the dropdowns show any values for me.

How did people fix the laggy problems at Full Tilt and the yellow screen of death thing. Just started getting it.
