I loved watching this show the first time around and I think the Hulkster will ramp up the entertainment value. Now if they would only hire the Macho Man to provide color commentary.........

I watched part of the old American Gladiators on ESPN Classic last week and ran across this news on Wikipedia. I have to say I was/am pretty excited. Let's just hope they keep the sweet feathered hair on all the gladiators.

Variety reports it as a midseason replacement, so probably as a February sweeps special.

i hope the new version upholds the standard! my fiancee and i recently stumbled onto an american gladiators rerun, watched the whole thing, and lamented the show's passing. she was on a ninja warrior tear for quite a while. i theorized that gladiators was a better show, but now i'm pretty sure because i'm no longer running on pure nostalgia. i'm kinda surprised that it was still in syndication, but perhaps they were already ramping up for a return.

I'd argue that Ninja Warrior is a better show than American Gladiators but I love AG. Any TV show that promotes health and fitness in this country is a fantastic thing, this is why I'd argue we need more shows like this. Bring on the Gladiators.

They should bring back the competitors from the original season who are now like 45. I want to see if Craig Williams stayed in shape.

This seems a little silly to me. In the original series, they treated it like a real sport. They had Mike Adamle and Larry Czonka announcing. It was great, and I think they should do the same thing this time.
