Calling station wants it big - still go broke???

Opponent is running like 39/16/1 - type of calling station.
I am pretty aggro but no big pots so far (23/22/9)

muck out that turn. he can easily have that 2 with a 39 vpip. i hate that 1.0 af too for this spot.

min raised on the turn is never good but you've invested nearly half your stack and are still ahead of JJ-KK, which I think you'll see here a fair amount (you have AK right?!), certainly enough to make the call.

I'm never folding, he might have T8 and you have aces up.

I stack off here all day. A 2 makes up a very small part of his range.

push is better than calling though right?

his action is a little bit scary, but he can be "trapping you" with kk, qq. Add in t8, tsjs, have to get it in.

Given his stats and the fact that he's more than double everyone's stack on the table, he's more likely to be a savvy player than an inferior call station. Looks like he calls lots of small bets but gets out quickly, and raises when he has something good.

A turn check/call would've been a nice option.

I can't fold to this guy, he could have KK-JJ or something like T8 because he is an idiot

It's not that crazy an idea. There are players with very bad fundamentals who nonetheless sit down, play one table only, follow the action carefully and develop their own gameplan.

With that said, the aggression factor of 1, even given his preflop stats, does not bode well.

Also, AA is the nuts here.

I was more laughing at the assumption that because somebody has a big stack they're probably a competent player.

And that's not what I said.

But when someone more than doubles everyone else at the table, it's unlikely he's the worst player and everyone just donated to him.

It's less unlikely than you think.

Edit: 'more likely'? Whatever.

As I said, he is usually a calling station, capable of calling down multiple barrels with weak 1 pair holdings or draws. Thing is, I never saw him rasing in those spots.

I really felt beat when he minraised in a large pot, but just couldn't let it go. My hope was he was overplaying some overpair or T8.

So I shoved into his flopped quads.

Ya, that seemed a little out of place.
