Commerce or the Bike?

For those who know these cardrooms, if you had one night in LA to play poker, where would you head. Looking or lower cap NLHE (1/2, 2/5).

If there's already a good thread on this (I can't be the first to ask), please link.

Thanks

Re: Commerce or the Bike?

i was recently in LA and played at both the bike and commerce for the first time.

imo, i would choose the commerce nlhe 3/5 game. games were a lot softer.

The Bike. The wait staff is much better looking. The action is hot, hot, hot. The food is better. Parking more secure. Less a-holes.

Just my two cents.

Re: Commerce or the Bike?

More games in Commerce as follows. Food might be better in Commerce and floor might be better in Bike.

Commerce(160, 2400) commercecasino.com $1 increase from January 2007 (323)721-2100 x635
5 tables of $9/$18 LHE, no free meal
5 tables of $20/$40 LHE $8/HH, free meal
4 tables of $40/$80 LHE $9/HH, free meal
8 tables of $200buy ($3/$5) NLHE $1+$3+$1, free meal
10 tables of $400buy ($5/$10) NLHE $1+$4+$1, free meal
3 tables of $600<buy ($10/$20) NLHE $9 per HH, free meal

Bicycle(110, 1700) thebicyclecasino.com (562)806-4646 x545
2 tables of $100buy ($2/$3) NLHE $4+$1, NFND, no free meal
3 tables of $200buy ($3/$5) NLHE $4+$1, NFND, free meal
2 tables of $300<buy<$500 ($5/$5) NLHE $4+$1, NFND, free meal
3 tables of $500<buy ($5/$10) NLHE $4+$1, NFND, free meal

NFND implies NoFlopNoDrop.

Not that this is relevant to the OP's NL queries, but why do you keep posting these lies?!

His information re: the no flop no drop policy at the Bike and also the free meals is also wrong. It'd probably be better to just delete his post.

The posting by jk90029 above is a part of collected information by 2+2ers, which is recently shown at http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rt=all&vc=1

Please correct it if you live in Los Angeles, since I am not living in LA now. The above are corrected and revised by many 2+2ers. If you can contribute to update the current file, then I will be appreciated as well as many 2+2ers. I feel we need to keep revising, in case that someone present wrong information unfortunately.

PS) Rather than saying "lie" or "wrong", please say truth here, for future correction.

Keep me posted, please.

You were corrected already in this thread but no change was made to your database. It's not a big deal to me, but just check your facts before you compile an official-looking table that evidently has a lot of flaws.

Re: To: Mr. private joker and Michael Davis

You are talking about "2/5 NL game at the Commerce with a $1000 capped buy in", for correction from "$200buy ($3/$5)" to "($200<buy<$1000) ($3/$5)" in the draft. Is it true?

Few months ago, someone (some 2+2er) went there to see minimum and maximum (fixed) buyin of $200. I do NOT know exactly what the truth is. Let us ask other 2+2er for buyin of the $2/$5 Commerce NLHE.

It is not confirmed yet. It might be my flaw, if it is. BUT DO NOT SAY that I AM A LIER any more, please.

Thanks.

If you have never been to either of these just pick one and go. There will be more games than you have ever seen.

Weekend is coming to 2+2ers.

If someone plan to go Commerce in LA this weekend, please check the minimum buyin of $3/$5 NLHE. Two candidates are as follows.

1. ($200<buy<$1000) in Commerce ($3/$5) NLHE
2. fixed $200buy in Commerce ($3/$5) NLHE

Thanks in advance.

Re: To: Mr. private joker and Michael Davis

the first buy in at the commerce 3/5 is 200, if you get to $100 or less you can rebuy up to $300. if you lose your whole 200 stack, you can rebuy at that point for 300.

You don't need someone to check. I'm guessing that there are a minimum of 10-20 2+2ers who regularly play in that or related games and already know the answer. I sure do(and I've never even played it). Its $200 min/max like the previous poster said, no free food. BTW, $20-40 and $40-80 LHE are dropped per pot, not time collection. And food is free although the servers basically look at you like you are a pos and should die if you tip $3 instead of $5.

Re: Commerce or the Bike?

The Normandy supposedly has deeper buy in small stakes NL games than other LA rooms. You should call them to check though, because I have never been there, and I don't even play NL.

If you play at hollywood park, and are willing to spend a few minutes filling out an application for a players club card, you should be able to earn a free mean in a typical night of play. They comp $1 per hour. On sundays, and thursdays, they comp extra.

Their NL games are:
1/2 NL $40 cap
2/3 NL $100 cap
3/5 NL $200 cap
5/10 NL $400 cap
5/10 NL uncapped minbuy=$500

The last game does not always run AFAIK.

It's $200 min-max aka "fixed buy-in".

the Bike. Should not even be debated here. Considering the limits you want to play, Commerce has max buyins that only benefit an addicted gambler.
ex. The 5/10 NLHE @ Commerce is capped at $400 buy in. does that sound appealing to you?

I just read some other posts about the caps at Commerce, and while I am not saying they are incorrect, I know what I am saying is true because I play there a lot.

from experince, its not all the LA casinos. Just specific places at certain blind levels. If you play hotel side at the Commerce, the 10/20, and 20/40, you are fine. If you play lower than that, your talking Bike, and Hustler.
