Stars software - x Blind Indicator.... to prevent misclick?

I don't play online very often. It happened to me but may not happened to others. However, I think it's good to put some kind of blind size indicator when make a raise....

The funny thing is the big stack paused for 15 seconds before folding so did the BB..... at least they knew I was committed. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I've done this a few times (including making some 100xBB PF raises in cash games) and it usually has to do with me typing too many zeros or something. I don't think it is a huge problem, however you should always consider the odds that someone misclicked into your EV calculations (like .01% maybe) [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].

Why'd you censor your cards? I've been dying to know your misclick range.

misclicks are so funny. I've thought about suggesting this before as well. It would be a little more complicated than simply warning you for raising more than (say) 20x the BB, since it would have to account for the other action during the hand. I don't want stars warning me every time I 4bet-shove preflop.

Also, on the same topic, when you manually type in a bet ammount - the software should not allow you to type an ammount less than a min-bet, nor greater than your stack.

For example, blinds 6000/12,000 - I type in a raise of 3100 - instead of forcing a min-raise of 24k, the button should be "grayed out" until I fix the ammount or use the slider. Also say I have a 280k stack (same blinds) and I type in a raise of 310,000 and hit click (or hit enter) - the button should not work. It should be fairly intuitive that nobody would make an all-in bet in this fashion... they would simply pull the slider all the way over. At least I think not, does anyone actually just mash numbers to go AI?

Absolutely, this is how I allin 90%+ of the time. I'm very much in the habit of clicking on the bet amount box and typing a number. Planning to go allin doesn't change that -- I click there and type some random numbers.

i don't see how you could possibly make this misclick unless you type in the number of a 3x instead of just clicking the slider once.

I don't understand why you typed to raise to 3x.

Who doesn't mash the keyboard when going all in? I like to get a few letters in there for good measure.

I'm freaking hammered... but I agree.

Full Tilt will buzz at you to say NONONO YOU STUPID PIECE OF INEPT CLUMSY LOSER when you mistype a bet that is bigger than your stack or smaller than the minimum bet.

I've always been a number masher to go AI it sames me a lot of time. When massive multitabling my left hand is solely there for mashing numbers to go AI.

Re: Stars software - x Blind Indicator.... to prevent misclick?

When making a raise, I normally type in the amount like "3" "6" "0" "0" "0".... in this case, I typed one more "0". In the ME post, I saw a guy with KK mistyped the amount at the river too (he bet 350 instead of 3500).

Preflop: it would be helpful if the software can indicate the number of BB's you raised on the amount indicator.

The indicator shows # of BB on top of the slide.

------------>3x
[36000] {===|============}

[Fold] [Check] [Raise to 36000]

OK, if I type 360000, it would be showing:

----------------------->30x!
[360000] {=============|========}

[Fold] [Check] [Raise to 360000]

Now, post flop (turn,river), it will be nice if the sliding bar shows bet size related to pot... like this

Assume pot is 7000, the dude with KK bets 3500,

------------------>1/2Pot
[3500] {==========|===========}

[Fold] [Check] [Bet 3500]

If he mistypes 350 instead, it would have shown "1/20" pot.

------------

Last thing, when deep in the tournament, when new level starts, I normally write down a few numbers on the paper, like

BB:25000, Ante 1000, 9 Handed, PF Pot size: 44000,

3x raise is 7500
3x pf raise 2p pot size will be: 194000.

(numbers are just estimate)

This way I prepare for post-flop play with different stacks.

It will be good if Stars can show some of this numbers in dealer box...

(just my 2-cent, for $10R it's ok to mistype, but when play for $m, misclick/mistype is a critical mistake.)

Re: Stars software - x Blind Indicator.... to prevent misclick?

just so you know, to make a 3x raise you can just click the right side of the slider once and it'll go to 3x automatically

Re: Stars software - x Blind Indicator.... to prevent misclick?

Just click the damn slider bar. There's your solution. Stars already gave it to you.
