I'm running at like 200BB/hr. for the month of October. Does that mean I should move up to $2k/$4k?

Played Omaha today. It went as it always does, terrible. I feel like I should be crushing these guys because they keep putting their money in so bad and letting me jam them when my equity is fantastic. Maybe I play too nitty preflop, maybe I'm not as good postflop as I think I am, maybe I run bad. I honestly don't know, but I still think I should be winning in these games at least a little. Here was my favorite hand with the standard uncounterfeitable nut low draw, overcards on the flop and broadway gutshot on the turn with nut flush draw against no pair almost no draw and bare nut low draw. I'm like -1100 in 10 and 15 Omaha between yesterday and today. It's not a ton of bets but I just don't understand how I never scoop a big pot.

Also, I'm bored of my crappy old phone so what should I get to replace it? I really like playing with Crazy Mike's iPhone so I think I need something with interwebs+qwerty keyboard. I have Verizon so the obvious answer of "get an iPhone" doesn't work. I live in the stone age so I assume all phones are capable of texting these days? Being able to put music on it isn't really important but it couldn't hurt. I don't really know what phones cost so I'm wanting to spend less than 1k and preferably less than 500.

Here is a fun Omaha hand I played yesterday that I am like 100% certain I misplayed and should not have capped the river. If it was a live game I would never think about 4betting due to 5bet threat but here it was basically "lol flopped nut boat better raise" even though he'd have to be beyond retarded to play 24/2T/2J this way and worse than mildly retarded for 44.

I think any lower than 36 and your going into "too low" territory.. 36 is fine if ur playing it right.

I run about 29/22 and mine is just over 39 and I win monies.

Some thing to consider, is how your opponents percieve you. If you get a lot of really light call downs, your WTSD is going to be higher as well as if your calling down really light.
If your bullying people around post flop a lot, they're going to showdown lighter.. Thus your WTSD is going to be higher.
If you bluff more, your WTSD is going to be higher (since you will showdown if called, whereas before, you would have folded yourself).

Awesome hand today against my friend who I'm teaching poker.

Limped 4 ways, I limp in cutoff with a-2 clubs. Button raises, who is a tight tight player, emphasis on tight.

Flop comes
3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

checked to my friend in mp1 who donks, i call expecting a raise, button obliges me and raises, called around, i 3 bet, button calls, called around.

Turn:
8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

COOL FREEROLL!

checked to me i bet, button folds, called in 2 spots, friend c/r's. I laugh in my head about his pocket 8's. I 3bet, called around.

River:
4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

[censored]. [censored] [censored] [censored] DAMMIT.

Friend checks cuz he is trappy. I check. He looks like a moran and scoops pot with said hand.

Re: October Low-Content Thread

Poker is easy when the players tell you to have the pot in the middle of the hand. I am in the BB in a 6 handed limped pot with KQo black. Flop comes 886, and it is checked around to the button who bets, I decide to speculate with my overs and call, and 2 other limpers behind me call. As they are calling, the button says "I wonder who has an 8". Translation: "I don't have an 8, who wants to win this pot?". The turn comes a 5, putting two hearts on the board, I bet, and all three fold, as planned.

Another similar hand, I am in SB with KTo, and there are about 4 limpers, so I complete (I believe I was 3 for 3 with KTo last night). Flop comes 422, two diamonds, me having none of that shape. Checked to very loose button who calls, I call because I can easily win this pot, and BB calls, which means I am now beat. Turn comes a diamond, so I check, BB checks, and button checks. River is a diamond and I quickly bet, BB wants to call, but can't, and then gets mad at the dealer for beating his three 2s, and button obviously folds.

This game is easy.

Great....games filled with 2+2ers. I might as well go do something degenerate like craps or 6:5 pay single deck BJ and at least have a good time setting my money on fire :P

Oh well, if Bellagio, Mirage, and Wynn suck, I can always grind out a few tournaments.

LOL, I really don't know. It all kinda depends on what kind of tourist is visiting Vegas this weekend. There is a thread in the B&M forum by UCLABEN bemoaning what he perceived as games filled with tight aggressive locals. I've rarely experienced a game I would describe as that, and when I did it was the $10-20 at Mirage.

Anywho, your choices are gonna be $15-30 at Bellagio, $10-20 and/or $20-40 at Mirage, and $15-30 at Wynn. Its possible there is something in that range going at Venetian as well. Anyway, if things are that bad, the $8-16 at Wynn is always filled with donkeys and the $10-20 Omaha 8 players at Wynn were pretty bad as well.

Man, I think I'm going to switch to NL/Spread-limit. I've been playing 5-200 SL at Bay101 for the last few days, and the players are ridiculously bad. Since 5-200 is the lowest SL game they have, you get the equivalent of a 2/4 limit game but playing for 10/20 limit+ stakes.

I've played maybe 300 hands of SL/NL in my life, and I felt there were about 7 donkeys at the table. And I have no clue how to play SL/NL... sick game.

God can terrible players just get punished a few [censored] times in this game. I can't remember the last time I was 500 miles ahead in a Stud 8 hand where I ended up with any of the pot. Completer is hatjr, a [censored] lag that holds over me like unbelievable and the T is some omaha player that plays okay other than apparently liking to play split tens in Stud 8. I normally almost never get involved with QQ in this game but this is obviously the ultimate spot. Of course he isn't drawing dead so I never had a shot. I thought he had only 3 outs but I forgot about his 3 great hidden K outs so it's not like the beat itself is significant at all, I just don't see why these terrible players have to keep getting rewarded for their stupidity.

Heard a great comment tonight after a hand that I still can't believe this guy said out loud.

I open OTB w/ QJ, SB and BB call.

Flop: 344r

Check/check/bet, SB calls, BB folds.

Turn K

Check/bet/call

river: Q

Check/bet/call.

I showdown and Villain turns over the same hand. As I study the board trying to figure out what he was hoping for on the river he looks at me and says, "At least I wasn't the one betting it"

To make me feel even more like [censored], like 3 people are nodding agreeing with him.

I don't think he was very happy with me when I looked at the dealer and said, "Sometimes I feel like I'm in a cartoon."

Vegas games are always good. To those of you worried about playing against locals, all of the locals suck at poker. These locals will tilt if anyone at the table shows down any hand that they shouldn't have played, regardless of whether they were in the hand or not.

Why? Why? Why? is right. Last night put me at 115 hours of breaking even. I try not to moan about it too bad because I know if I keep playing it will be so much worse. I have always said though, If I have a downswing of 300BB in live limit poker- I will quit, and its not even close. I feel like I haven't won a hand in a month and I'm still running at $0.87/hour since September 10th.

2 actually. Hell no I'm not as crazy as you, it's 3 weeks. I usually play 8-10 hour sessions but only 3-4 times a week.

5-200 spread limit at Bay101 2/3/5 blinds.

Hand 1:
EP limps, EP2 (super tight guy who I've only seen raise AA) makes it 15, I look down at J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and weigh my options and decide to just call, button calls, BB calls, EP calls. 5-way, $75 pot.

Flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Checked to me, I make it $40, everyone folds.
SB: "A7".
Me: "what? you folded A7?"
SB: "No, you got A7 right?"
Me: "No"
SB: "You got A7. else why would you bet so much?".

Hand 2:
2 limpers, I limp with 99 in SB, BB checks. 4 way, $20 pot

Flop is T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet $15, only LP calls.

Turn is 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet $30, LP thinks and folds.

UTG who folded preflop: "what's your kicker? you probably had me outkicked. I had 72. I can't call that. You had me outkicked anyway. You must have had a 7."

7? Damn, I wish I had a T!

Is there something I'm missing in this game? These low-limit $200SL games are so sick, I don't think people could call out my hand if they had 152 tries.

Bah, I am jealous. I lost overall in Sept, but I only played like 40 hours, so it wasn't very much. Having a full time job really cuts down on my pokering, as will going to Argentina next week. Tonight may be my last session of live poker until like the 16th or 17th of October, how depressing.

How many hours did you get to until you were winning again?

Sorry, I thought about it after it was too late to edit. Prob. wasn't the best question to ask.

Re: VEGAAAAAAAAAASSS

Why do I keep sitting in games for like 10 minutes online before deciding I don't want to play any more? Today the games happened to be super bad so it was probably for the best but I don't know how I'm going to get hands in during the week if I play 3 sessions of 50 hands a day.

I really wanted to learn Omaha this month but I've already lost more in those games than I have won playing Holdem so I give up temporarily again.

But the fact he told it to the dealer doesn't sit right with me. Outside of a select few, most dealers would probably agree as well...

New candidate vying for worst player in Cbury history. I have played some remarkable hand with him lately. This isnt really remarkable, but should let you know how profitable he is to play against. I raise him and another fishy limper w/ AQo.

Flop:
Q79r

we cap.

turn:x

He bets, I raise, he reaches back for chips but just calls.

river: T

He donks, I call.

He turns over J8.

Another hand he peeled with a bdfd and cr 3 players when the 3rd diamond came on the turn. he bet and got 3 callers when the river bricked.

Yes, I think I'm turning into an ass hole lately. I'll work on that.

And the poker gods didn't give me much of a birthday present. Lost 900 in about 4 hours, but now I'm drunk so I'm ok with it.

My favorite hands of my current session. The first one is an oldie but a goodie, 1 pair vs flopped almost nuts:

PokerStars 15/30 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is MP with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (4.66 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3.33 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (5.33 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 7.33 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 9s 4s (full house, nines full of queens).
Hero has Th 8h (straight, queen high).
Outcome: BB wins 7.33 BB.

This second one shows how well I mix up my play. I took the following steps to randomize my play expertly on this hand:
1. Too many tables/2+2 open
2. Forget what happened preflop

I meant to raise preflop and I didn't realize I hadn't until I posted it here. I checked flop because I thought he had 3bet me.

PokerStars 15/30 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
4 folds, Hero completes, BB raises, Hero calls.

Flop: (4 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

River: (7 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 9 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 2h 2s (three of a kind, twos).
BB has 5h Ad (one pair, fives).
Outcome: Hero wins 9 BB.

This one just happened against villain that I have played 3 straight pots with and the sick thing is that I was really close to c/r river for value:

PokerStars 15/30 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero raises, MP 3-bets, 4 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (7.66 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.83 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)

Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8.83 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Qc Ad (one pair, nines).
MP has Qd 9d (three of a kind, nines).
Outcome: MP wins 8.83 BB.
