My picks:

Diamondbacks > Cubs

Rockies > Diamondbacks

Yankees > Indians
Angels > Red Sox

Yankees > Angels

Yankees > Rockies

Re: OT: Official POG Baseball Postseason thread

I'd like to vote to have this post moved to sporting events as it has no bearing on pog and is simply trolling our emotions. Our love or hate for sports teams is neither a puzzle or a game. This is outlandish. Since I disagree with your thread, I will report it to a moderator for review, and then hopefully you will be banned for trolling POG with this homer Yankee love which is completely disrespectful to Poggers and African-Americans everywhere. You can't just post things where people might have different opinions on it here in POG. In POG, we don't accept different opinions. And I won't even take the smart route of simply ignoring your posts. Instead I will whine and complain and flame you until you are banned. Attacking and flaming you is vastly more productive than simply ignoring you. That's what 2p2 is all about, AMIRITE?
LOLOL
Thank you.

If the Padres weren't playing in the one game playoff I would pick them to win the WS - I might pick them anyways

what bobo needed was a sporting event thread in pog where he could vent his frustrations without penalty

Dustin,

There are no truly great teams out there this year, which makes things wide, wide, wide open. Every single team could win (I'm skeptical about the Cubs and Rockies, but the freaking Cards won last year, so, yeah).

the diamondbacks are unbelievably overrated

feel free to disagree with anything i say except this: the diamondbacks are not going to win the NL. i have them beating the cubs because, well, they're playing the cubs.

The entire NL could be banished from the postseason as far as I'm concerned.

The worst part is they probably have about a 40% chance of winning the world series despite the fact that Detroit would probably have had the best record in the NL by about 8 games (10 if they played in the NL Central).

This is kind of a weird time in sports right now. There's two truly good teams in college football (maybe just one, USC makes me wonder) and everyone else is bunched up between 3-30 practically. Besides the Pats (and I guess the Colts) the NFL is a total crapshoot. And then there's the baseball playoffs. It wouldn't shock me if the Phillies stay hot and roll the whole way. There's just so few dominating teams out there in any sport anymore.

Here's my problem with the Diamondbacks in a nutshell

Runs scored - 712, Runs allowed - 732, Game 2 starter - Doug Davis, Game 3 starter - Livan Hernandez

This is NOT a recipe for playoff success.

Since I may not get this chance again I put a bunch of money on the Rockies at +130 tonight. I figure there has to be value in that play.

I unfortunately can't go to the game tonight but having friends over and going crazy.

Baseball fever in Denver? Talk radio on Rockies in Oct instead of Broncos? gogogogogogo

Re: OT: Official POG Baseball Postseason thread

The AL is slightly better than the NL, I'll give y'all that

But I'd like to say that the Orioles/D-Rays/Royals are definitely worse than any National League team which leads to part of the problem

antidan444 10-01-2007 04:59 PM

Re: OT: Official POG Baseball Postseason thread

The Orioles did not fit in there until the last month, and then in part because Bedard got hurt.

But man did they suck that last month.

This is so wrong... you just need to add the Dolphins to one of the suckiest NFL teams list. And yes, I am a huge Fins fan
