He could have an ace or a Q with a better kicker so I call . For the river I'm going for a check/call because if I bet and get raised there a big chance he has a Q with a better kicker (theres 8 over and just 4 under to mine).

Thoughts?

Aggression numbers would make your reads better. If he has a Q it is better than yours and if he never raises you can probably figure he has AQ.

3 bet turn call a cap.

Bet out on the river if you get called on the 3 bet and call a reraise if it comes.

call down from turn and expect to loose a lot to a better Q.

Now what about the flop play, in a thread from yesterday Miles suggested that 4 handed betting the flop in a similar situation with an ace on board is bad.

because he has A3 but he's raising because now he chops with A4? does he have a worse Q? a draw?

i would call down. the only thing i see that makes sense to 3bet against is a FSDR.


edit: i agree that the flop bet is meh. the problem is, if we check and someone bets, we have to fold, and that's boring.

I sorta knew that, but in my mind I was still getting shouted at by my session review partner for trying to check-raise hands. I guess that made me write the title wrong hehe

I can't believe everyone is 3-betting here. I call down and expect to lose without my 6 pairing, a high card hitting on the river or the ace pairing. It would take a pretty big over aggro retard to actually call this flop, raise this turn and pay off after we three bet with a worse hand than ours.

AF wouldn't really mean too much here (I assume #30 ... means 30 hands)

i don't think it matters much what you do ... this guy has played almost all his hand over 30 (so there is a good chance he is a knob) - I don't mind putting in two or more big bets at this point

we have one Queen and a bunch of other random stuff

ok it's .05/.1 and it's 4handed, but surely we can do a little hand reading. how many worse hands can he do this with (and also call down a 3bet)? he's loose, but how often is he limping Q5-Q2? is he slowplaying flopped top pair? i just don't see the upside to 3betting.

and I've had a guy call me down with Jack high

Is everyone leading the flop? I usually check and see OOP with middle pair and a weak kicker, particularly when there's an A on the flop.

I included that because he did ... and called down after I 3bet the turn

it's not the norm ... but as stated before ... I don't mind putting in 3+BB at this point
