NC: Plan a Gambling Odyssey

As many of you know I will be taking a road trip up through the East Coast. I really have never done a road trip before and have no clue how to plan it. My first instinct is to just get some stuff and stick it in my car and start driving. I think a map would be a good bet. But I'll probably just use my laptop and google maps. I assume getting a car charger would also be a hot idea... but I digress.

The main point of this thread will be to see who wants to meet up during my trip. I will likely be going to both AC/Foxwoods (when I figure out where these places are and where to stay). Feel free to chime in dates where you would want to meet up or if you would like me to come and sleep on your couch and hit on your daughters/girlfriends/wives (No weirdos need apply, I'm creepy enough on my own and don't need to create any synergy in this regard).

Hrm... I expect this to get somewhat rambling but whatev. I'll be going from ~Nov 1 to ~Nov 15 or so... I'm gonna hit up DC/NY/Boston areas primarily and maybe some other cool stuff as I see fit. I might do some camping or I might just hang out and get bombed and see if I can't end up in jail in another state with no one within 2k miles to call and bail me out.

My trip may be extended by a week depending on whether I feel like doing so, how my results are doing for the month etc etc. But yes, everyone feel free to chime in. I'm hoping we can get a decent group together for AC on a Sat night or whatev.

Note: I will be leaving detailed information of where I will be so all would be rapists/murderers be warned.

I gave him the best suggestion last time: going to MSG and taking in a Ranger game. They don't know what hockey is down in Alabama, so the hell with him.

I think I initially responded that baseball season will be over and that baseball is played outdoors.

Oh, I did miss an important part. I think I can manage my way in NYC/DC to fill out my days. But what is there exciting to do in the Boston area. Also what is there exciting to do in like Conn/Vermont/etc. I'd like to check out some parks and maybe do some hiking or something else. I'm just not really sure. I'm open for exciting suggestions of shizzle to check out.

Define "exciting". There are a bunch of historical things to go see/do, such as the Freedom Trail.

I'd go look at some museums, churchs, historical landmarks, cool places to eat, weird stuff, things to see. Just really anything.

I think this would be more fun if you started at the Common, wandered over to Chinatown and what's left(if anything)of the Combat Zone and then drank your way over to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. You'd miss a few historical sights but...

Thremp,

enjoy the trip. The only advice I can give: Read "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac to get you psyched beforehand. Invest in a nice national road map. There's just something not right about using laptop/google maps for this kind of trip. Plan to get lost, go someplace unexpected, talk to everyone (if you end up in a bar alone, mix it up a bit). road trips are the best - good luck..

Re: NC: Plan a Gambling Odyssey

Okay, I've got some tentative dates.

I will be up at Amherst/Boston from around the 1st til possibly the 5th. I might get a random weeknight at Foxwoods for people that are up that way.

9/10th is up for AC if we can decide on a place to go. I think Naj mentioned the Tropicana. I'm up for chopping a room with someone or whatever else gets down.

I'll likely be taking a fairly straight shot on the way up and then slowly working my way back down. I'll also probably leave a couple days before Halloween. There is a music fest that is pretty awesome the weekend before. I need to make a decision whether to die at that or not.

Suggestions?
