To answer questions, A9 was a vb, Q8ss is standard, and I think the 97 hand was non-standard but fine.

Phil is now playing Ziigmund at 200/440 PLO

Re: Phil Ivey vs. Jman 300/600
I'll admit you did get very unlucky on the last hand and a diamond would shut him down almost every time.

Re: Phil Ivey vs. Jman 300/600
JMan, why play Phil Ivey at 300/600 in the first place?
What goes through your head? Serious question - do you think you're +EV? Does anyone? In particular, his stop-loss strategy and tendency to buy in short means you're VERY unlikely to take him for a big score. He quits as soon as he starts to lose. So why does anyone play him? |

I guess this was one of those ones which didn't work! |

Re: Phil Ivey vs. Jman 300/600
Jman,
Phil Ivey plays on TV and has won tournaments. Please explain how you are +EV vs him? |
Re: Phil Ivey vs. Jman 300/600
I'm sure Jman thinks he's +EV against Ivey because of the stakes, 300/600 doesn't bother Ivey that much and it often reflects in his play. If they played in another setting and higher stakes I think Jman would be more humble about his EV. Nevertheless I'm not saying he would be -EV.

Stop loss strategy's are only good if you play worse when losing. There's no other benefit to them EV-wise. Yes, I think I'm +EV vs. Ivey. [/ QUOTE ] Does Ivey ever tilt? Seems he often quits when he loses a buy-in to an outdraw, to preclude the possibility of tilt before it happens. In comparison to Benyamine and Gus he doesn't play super-long sessions, though he will stay for the kill when he's winning big. And he always buys in short, quits when down a few, so doesn't risk much of his own money. He seems in every way the nightmare opponent. |
Re: Phil Ivey vs. Jman 300/600
isn't ivey a live player lol? forget 300/600, i bet he couldn't beat 3/6 online... much like nergranu..
