many people on this list are probably great businessmen because they are devoid of talent.

Paris Hilton - why are people obsessed with this chick? she doesn't do anything whatsoever. she is not even attractive.

Martha Stewert - the sound of her voice makes me want to slit my wrists. none of the recipes on her show at all complicated. her shows are 30 minutes long. 15 minutes of commercials, 5 minutes of pumping her website, book, e-video, store, frying pan, brand name, 5 minutes of the obnoxious female audience clapping and 5 minutes interviewing some gay guest who doesn't say anything except 'is this the on button?'.

Jennifer Lopez - there are probably ten million chubby spanish chicks with big butts. that NY accent makes me want to tie a bag over my head. every film she ever made has sucked(besides Out of Sight) and her music is garbage.

Paris Hilton (or her managers/agent) is a pretty awesome self-promoter. There are an absolute tonne of skinny, rich, blonde girls out there (a lot of whom are significantly hotter), but she has managed to make herself one of the most famous people in the World right now. Pretty impressive feat imo, even if she is a vacuous whore.

Paris Hilton - A high quality model before she became super famous. Her ability to self promote is astounding, she created an image that people could not get enough of. She deserves everything she gets.

Martha Stewart - She is a role model all house wives in this country. Even outside of just house wives she is a woman who handles the business aspect of her life extremely well. A role model to all women despite her troubles with the law. She deserves the fame she gets.

I was planning on doing everyone in this thread but I am lazy. Basically these people are pretty deserving of the fame they get because they tapped into what we want as a culture better than the throngs of people who attempt to do the same thing.

She's famous for having a sex tape, a stupid reality show, and for being a drunken party girl. Yeah, she markets herself really well, but that's what this thread is about, idiots who have managed to market themselves and become famous but have no redeeming qualities.

I hate Michael Moore, but he is very deserving of his fame and money. He managed to makes tons of documentaries which appeal to wide audiences he is a good filmmaker (technically) and is smart/crafty enough to be as dishonest as he is while still telling the truth.
The Paris Hilton thread has been done over and over here, but there are thousands of rich blonde girls like her, yet she is the most famous she must be doing something right.

Michael Cera is awesome and isn't particularly rich or famous. If you say Michael Cera you could also say Will Arnett who was played GOB in every movie he has ever been in.

Paris Hilton was a working model who was well regarded. She already had some minor celebrity status. She was not a "random blonde" she had a little bit of celebrity and worked on it. She did it a very dirty way, but she did it. She also milked the hell out of it while she could. She's doing a great job playing the game.

It was not meant like that. I am saying she used her minor celebrity(which none of us normal people would have known her for)and she attempted to become Kate Moss and it worked. I think it was a conscious effort to be that type of person our culture wanted on some level.

really though, i have to say martha stewart and paris hilton in the same train of thought makes no sense whatsoever. stewart is a horrible example for a number of reasons but it would seem like a certain criteria would be followed and there is no way both these women fit.

k-fed came to mind for me as well.

i think its hard to pinpoint people though because no celebrity is truly worthy of the fame and money they have...but at the same time all of them have/are doing something right to be where they are (even if it is nothing more than surrounding themselves with the right people).

so i guess im really saying, my vote goes to all or none.

Undreserving would be someone who was born into fame or stumbled into in with no work required.

For both your choices i really think you've overlooked the appeal of these women. While not sexy in a very obvious way, they both have very understated beauty about them.

K-Fed? How is he not deserving? The guy is a genius. He was a nobody / backup dancer and is smart enough to figure out a way to marry one of the richest pop icons in the world. If that were not enough, he also gets her knocked up twice in like 2 years which will mean even more money when he gets his settlement. He knew the marriage wouldn't last and he got the absolute most from it financially.

Thread fails sooooo hard.

Michael Cera is awesome. Rachel Ray worked like crazy to get where she is. Michael Moore doesn't even make sense as a suggestion, no does Martha Stewart. Even if you hate these people, a lot of them have done a lot of work to get to where they are.

Paris is a very obvious answer, but a lot of other people have been in her spot and haven't made nearly as much money, so somebody's doing something right.

FWIW, Paris Hilton has parlayed the dubious fame from her sex tape into profitable fashion lines, TV shows and movie roles, branded perfume and tons of product endorsement. Regardless of whether you like or hate her, she's hard-working and a pretty shrewd operator.

Edit: I don't like or dislike PH, she just doesn't belong on a list like this.
