We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

A hundred years ago, i started my bankroll from the 10 man limit SNGs on Everest.
I've been freerolling ever since. But now a buddy of mine who is tired of depositing is looking to do the same, only Everest is now dead to US players.

Which means he wants to build from freerolls, but currently only plays the freerolls on Poker Stars, AP and Full Tilt.

Does anyone know of any U.S. friendly sites with good freerolls other then the above listed?

Or good ideas for starting a roll other then freerolls?

I think he's getting fed up and might end up depositing anyways, but any advice would help.

Oh, and if this is the wrong forum, i'm sorry, but i figured we're all low limit grinders, so freerolls is something we would know.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

I'd rather get a paper route or something and deposit than ever play a freeroll

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

Just deposit around $20 to get started off. And start playing $2 NL cash games. I did that and now I'm at around $126 after about a two months of play.

I told him that, but he still wants to know if there are any good freerolls.

There arent really any freerolls anymore. Not like the sweet ones from 2-3 years ago.

1. Deposit $50 for 25 buyins at 1c/2c.
2. Play teh Pokah
3. ???????
4. Profit

Dude, seriously just get a paper route. Even if you win $16 in a 2700 max FR on FTP... that would take like 4-5 hours, giving you a sick $4/hr rate.

Play $10NL and build your way up.

I did this in about 5 days. I think within 30 days I was up to around $600 from $20. This was at 2nl to 10nl (stars .02/.05)

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

best freerolls I think are on action poker, not sure if its compatible with U.S. players. I have to say that the site sucks and I hate it, but some of my broke friends play those freerolls.
Also, some time ago if u used the code Europa5 they gave u 5 free dollars.
I strongly suggest u deposit and start grinding it out on the lowest stakes. A year ago I was playin 1c 2cents in UB, now Im starting to grind 100NL with quite a roll.
Just play well, deposit 50 on Stars and start at their lowest stakes. U will move up if u put effort in it.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

pokerstars freerolls are the worst around, don't waste your time there. It's basically a freeroll to another freeroll, and so many people end up getting paid, that you might win like 30cents for hours and hours of play. It's retarded.

You guys should prolly just deposit somewhere unless you are gluttons for punishment, I wouldn't deposit at pokerstars though because obv its rigged.

bodog has good freerolls, also here's a link that might help you guys http://www.freeroll-tracker.com/freerolls.php

Pokerstars playmoney ring games are where the $$ are at

PokerStars freerolls are the [censored]. Every saturday, around 2-3, you can enter the Supernova freeroll, where players play like complete donks, and all you need to enter is to get a few FPP points here and there throughout the year.

Monthly and weekly freerolls are fairly cheap too, just a few FPPs.

Your friend can benefit from the free cash programs on several sites (although I don't know whether they are available to US players or not) : Poker770 (7.70€), Pitbull (10$), yourpokercash (Absolute, UB, FT for 50$ each), vcpoker (10$, code "freemoney").

That's how I'm trying to develop my bankroll.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

My bankroll allows me to play up to 50NL.
I earned it playing freerolls and started the 2NL grind.

My friend wants to play without a deposit.

I have explained to him that depositing would be eaiser now, because what is available then is gone now.

He is staying on a friend's couch, and has been without a phone for a month.

He does not have $20 to $50 to deposit, but wants to play freerolls.

He's not looking to make fat stacks. He plays live when he has money at 1-2 and enjoys it.

In the mean time, he just wants somewhere to maybe win some pocket change and take it to low stakes.

Those of you that say deposit, $20 is to much for him to currently deposit. $20 not important to you, send some change his way, PM me and i'll give you his login.

I offered to send him some, but he said what he really wanted was freerolls.

so...hear me when i say, he wants freerolls.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

I used to play a lot of poker before legislation killed neteller and everything was up in the air. Right when that happened I cashed out everything and didn't play for a year or so.

I started playing freerolls at PS after a while but that didn't get me anywhere. So about 2 months ago I sold $35 worth of MTGO product and had the money transferred to my PS account. I've turned that into $560 so far by starting at 5NL. I just moved up to 25NL this week!

So yeah, in short, don't bother with the freerolls. They're a waste of time. Just buyin for $20-$50 and play micro NL.

It sounds like the man needs to take the time he spends on poker and spend it looking for a job/placeToLive instead. TBH, if you are technically homeless and one of your primary priorities is finding money to play poker, it's not a good sign.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

i think that work money and poker money should be completely seperate. work money is what u live off of, but the money u put into poker should be money you would put into any other hobbies. poker money should be looked at as simply a hobby and if anything only additional money, but certainly not your only means of income.

as far as the freerolls go, the electricity you would pay from playing the freerolls would probably be more than what you would get from it anyways. i would just deposit a small amount.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

All right guys, i'll try typing slower.

He doesn't play live, or have the cash to deposit RIGHT NOW.

He still enjoys playing, and he wants to play freerolls.

Please understand this part...HE WANTS TO PLAY FREEROLLS.

He has a job, he works 50 hours a week, the problem was, he got in debt about 2 months ago when he had to quit his previous job.

NOW, he's crashed on a friend's couch, working 50 hours a week, getting caught up on bills, and in about 2-3 months, he'll be able to play live again.

IN THE MEAN TIME, HE WANTS TO PLAY FREEROLLS.

Shesh, you people act like everyone plays poker to try and make a living. He doesn't. He plays 100% because he likes to play.

Right now though, because he can't go play live like he wants, he's stuck playing freerolls.

And everyone stop putting your thin little brags here. So what, i won .20 in freerolls and took that to 1,000. I cashed out most of it and now i play 10NL and 25Nl mostly. I understand how a deposit would have sped up my process as well as his, but he's not trying to make fat stacks.

If you like free rolls and cant deposit ...play freerolls. And disregard the idiots that like telling you how much better they are than you are.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

There's already a few people telling you that the good ole days of freerolls are over. He's not gonna be able to get a decent roll like that, especially working 50 hours a week. If he wants to waste time, tell him to play on Stars freerolls. Personally I'd rather just do play money and wait the 2-3 months.

Re: We\'re Micro stakes, but freerolls?

There are no good freerolls, as I told the best are those from the small sites, because they have the least players registering. One guy already posted a great link about freerolls.
Told u already about actionpoker.com, there are a bunch of FRs there.
I just say to convince him not to play those [censored] donkaments and grind it out. Dammit and tell him not to waste his cash trying to play 1-2 live, cuz I got quite a feeling he is not a good enough player yet.

There are no freerolls. Time is money. Tell him to get a job at a telemarketing company, work for two days, PROFIT, quit and deposit. That's more free than spending hours and hours grinding freerolls and nano stakes until you finally have a couple of hundred enter the micros.
