this is how i do it

doubleing your stake each time on odds of at least even money, you can start with $1,000 and try and get upto $128,000 by simply. - 2k - 4k -8k - 16k - 32k - 64 - 128.

Is this a good idea to build somthing from hardly nothing to a large amount ?? I like it and its the american dream to start with nothing and build. does anyone else do this?

If you have an infinite bankroll then it sounds like a great idea. Then again, if you have an infinite bankroll, there isn't much need to place the bets in the first place. For finite bankrolls it doesn't sound so hot.

Risking 128K to win 1K is always a good idea.

also, i'm doubting you're going to bet the 64k the last bet, knowing you have 63k in profit already...

I decided not to be mean:

No, this is not a good idea. This is a very bad idea. For many reasons. Just don't.

I did this, except that I kept going until I hit $512K. Why? Because that's how I roll.

You have a 50% chance to pull this off (either you do it or you don't). 50% of 128 is +64k so your EV is -.5k (lose) + 64k (win) = 63.5k. What an incredible +EV strategy.

I was hoping this would stay quiet, but now the cat's out of the bag.

Once a year I fly into Vegas and do just this. I make 127K a year and work just a day or two.

If we are all going to start doing this, we should get organized so we all don't hit the same casinos and sportbooks at the same time; we don't want them catching on to our system and banning us.

dankhank 09-27-2007 12:13 AM

Re: this is how i do it

there is no way sportsbooks will catch on to this, because all your are doing is playing a single game, just like thousands of other people do. the hard part will be getting the books to accept all your action when you are betting the final legs.

Didn't someone on this forum actually do this with the scraps left in their online sportsbook last year? IIRC, they had success, but chickened out once they got to the larger bets.

And 2.9x $28k would have been so money.

But pussies don't get rich, just screwed in the long-run. He had a goal and he gave up short of the finish line. Boo!
