$115 NLTRN aces up get minraised

Villain has been very passive, missing value bets, limping a lot. He's a little on the tight side post flop too. Never seen him minraise before.

Against a passive villain I'd just call and see a cheap showdown here.

I guess there might be some really thin value in making a small reraise and folding if he comes over the top, but I don't really think it is worth getting fancy.

I agree with xSCWx .

If he had bet more on the turn , then your effective odds would be reduced significantly and calling would be that much more difficult . Since he's laying you decent odds here , I'd call hoping that he checks the river or makes another smallish bet .

how tight is he pf. If he is fairly tight you can take a lot of 2x hands out of his range.

I prefer check call . There is a decent chance that villain has played a 3-x this way and used the ace on the turn as a potential scare card.

Your only hope of winning is if he shows you 3-x or some random bluff .

Certainly call - you're ahead often enough for that.

Evaluate the river, but (unless the river is spectacular) be prepared to check/autocall 1/2 pot bet. Anything from 1/2 pot to full pot is a judgement call based on what the river is and your instinct on how he bet. An overbet probably has to be a fold against this type of opponent.

If he was using the ace as a scare card, he would not bet the river with 3x, check calling you lose a lot of value IMO.

There are a lot of hands you beat which will call a river value bet, mainly Ax, but also 3x.
Since he is tight post flop, we can fold to a raise, no?

Re: $115 NLTRN aces up get minraised

river a 7: if he often limps hands like AK-Ax on the button, i know almost impossible to know, i would prefer to check/call. often you are getting raised from A10-type of hands (passive players dont always raise with these hands). but a raise would be very ugly. so i really don't know. maybe if you bet, bet a little bit more, about 3/4, so villain has to consider that you have made trips or another very strong hand. this would be my idea.

in my head, the way this player was described as very timid, passive, tight, scared

so he would only raise with a 3 or better
