Heroes Premiere TONIGHT, Sept. 24th

It's back. The show with which OOT had an unending love-hate relationship, and that had more potential than it ever actually realized, kicks of its new season tonight. I'm cautiously stoked about this, but there's always the potential for things to go downhill fast. The previews did show both Parkman and Peter Petrelli, both of whom have no business still being alive. This might be a turn for the stupid. Suresh is also still alive as I guess he should be, even though they probably should have bumped him off. I guess we'll see what happens.

You know Nathan is still alive too.

They should just call it the Hiro Nakamura Happy Fun Times Show. Cause that's really the reason we all watch it.

I think there's a good argument for Peter Petrelli being alive. Nathan...not so much.

I'm depressed that I can't order them on iTunes this year.

NBC is going to offer its own download service, I read.

Technically Nathan SHOULD be dead, but as you know in the comic book world, nobody is dead unless you see them die.

Yeah, they seem pretty ok in the ad. I was hoping they'd just be around for some flashbacks, but I watched it again, and they do show new Nathan and Peter and Parkman. Bummer.

Claire's immortality is less impressive in a show where nobody important dies. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I'm surprised people are excited for this after how bad the second part of s. 1 was (very, very, very bad), but a lot of people are talking about it online and around campus.

I'll be watching MNF, but ill download it, if I had to bet, I'd say this season will be bad, although the presence of Kristen Bell and some of the cool directors they're bringing in might prove me wrong. Hopefully the success of s. 1 will get NBC to give them a better budget so that big showdowns aren't won with a garbage can to the head this year.

And even then they're not dead.

My predictions on who did/didn't die
---
*Peter-100% alive
*Matt-Should still be alive since five shots didn't kill him right away
*DL-more likely alive than Matt
*Nathan-More than likely alive (uh...he threw Peter at the last second and flew away)
*Linderman-99% dead
*Jessica-80% gone
*Sylar-5% dead

They ended last season so poorly, like worst ending every poorly. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch again.

What was wrong with the ending? I thought it was pretty good.

Why in the world would Peter be dead? We've already seen him survive himself exploding in the future.

This show has gotten so much hype you got to figure it will suck this year. But the Origins idea sounds pretty cool.

I'm all for missing out on the occasional show/movie because I think it's over-hyped...but this is ridiculous.

Re: Heroes Premiere TONIGHT, Sept. 24th

The difference between the first wo..Heroes and PB is that they were never really good shows. They had glimpses or an episode here and there but overall the writing was average to poor and the acting was painful.

The latter two(though Superbad isn't a show) were good shows that hit rough patches but always redeemed themselves in the end.

If i skip season 1 and start @ 2 will I be clueless?

MrWookie 09-24-2007 06:04 PM

Re: Heroes Premiere TONIGHT, Sept. 24th

I'd suspect not. You'll mostly just need to learn who has what power and who's related to whom. I'd suspect you can pick most of that up in the premiere.

I hope Kristen Bell has many scantily clad scenes this season. Any reservations I had about season 2 have been wiped away after learning she would be on the show. Plus I'd watch the show just for Hiro anyway.

Edit: Pic obv necessary.

Let's not get carried away people.

A summary of my posts wrt to this show last year.

"This is entertaining and stupid, kinda hate it but will obviously watch every minute of it".

It's not really a good show, it's just a super entertaining one with a lot of hot ass and [censored] blowing up.

I disagree. If you look at the early episodes, they're very good. I started watching this show expecting to hate it, and ended up watching about 8 episodes back to back. I think it had too much momentum for its own good though, because it really started to lag right around the episode where they delved into HRG's past(which to me was the last truly awesome episode). They also shouldn't have taken TWO [censored] breaks in the one season! God help me NBC!

There were a few actually v. good eps, but a lot of it was just bad trashy comic book writing that you enjoy for the same reasons you enjoy bad trashy comics.

Dead serious, 10 mins left but it's the best pilot I can remember watching in a long time.

Holy [censored], Sylar's back! Also...

Mistakes

* In 1671, Japan had been consolidated under the Tokugawa bakufu for over 50 years, and the Samurai class had fallen out of the traditional service like that shown. Also, the only Europeans allowed near Japan were the Dutch, not the English, and were strictly monitored by the Japanese government. Takezo Kensei being an Englishman is very suspect. Also the Japanese (including bandits) used firearms and other gunpowder weaponry rather commonly by this point.
* In Brazil, people speak Portugese, not Spanish as is often mistaken.
* Claire's chemistry class seemingly out of nowhere speaks about Darwin, which has no connections to Chemistry but rather should be either in biology.

If you are referring to the scenes with Maya and Alejandro, those were in Honduras, if I'm not mistaken. If you were referring to something else, then my apologies.
