Bet turn? How much? ($1/2 deep)

Villain is 48/18/2.3. He's a semibluffer, but looks out of the water in big pots. I've seen him misplay draws heavily a few times, but is not a huge donator.

Whether or not to bet the turn isn't quite trivial, but I'm pretty sure I bet it 100%. Anyone have any convincing arguments as to whether or not to check?

The issue, though, is stack sizes. I think a lot of his range is KK + flush draw, so I need to leave myself room to make a big bluff should I miss.

i can never bring myself to check in these places. i'd bet $140 ish. Then shove the river if he checks and pray hes capable to lay down his set and busted flush draw.

i think you are right with KK+fd and also 789x might be possible, although if he likes to felt draws there is a good chance he will have comitted on the flop

i bet about $100 on the turn - you really want to price any kind of flush draw in obviously, and also leave about $150-200 to bet a blank river. overall this is obviously a great spot to try and bust your target

If you go 130 or something you can definitely make a credible river bluff.

just hit the river, then you don't have to bluff.

I like $120 - $130ish, leaves him to call off close to 1/2 his stack on the river.

$145 and shove any river if checked to...Be happy if he gets it all in on the turn I think...

If I bet too much, do I not risk folding out hands that could pay me off if I hit the river? I'd be representing a straight, so I think he'll fold KK + 2nfd if I bet close to full pot, whereas if I keep him in with that hand I can bet him off the best hand when I miss and get paid off when I hit.

Yeah, I mean 120$ seems good here...

Results: I bet $85, he calls. Turn is yahtzee 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], he checks and calls my all-in with AH KD 3H 6D.

yep NH - the turn bet is kind of a double-edged sword - a smaller bet prices in the flush draws, but the less you bet the less you represent a nut straight, (bare nut straight surely bets the pot or close to it??) and the more he might look you up light

Re: Bet turn? How much? ($1/2 deep)

a bit of topic...
1.is it a leak that i would fold to your flopreraise?
2.whats your action on the river if it pairs non diamond?

Re: Bet turn? How much? ($1/2 deep)

1. No, not at all. With tptk, gutshot and 2nfd, you can't really call, you can either pass or raise again, but passing is usually best here. The issue is that my range is very wide here, and not very much of it includes the nut flush draw.

2. Shoveski. I pretty much 'know' what he's got, that he has me beat, and can't call.
