24: mild spoilers

First of all, my humble apologies if this has been noted already. My modest search attempts have failed me. (When I tried to search for "24", I got a message that the search request was too short.)

Anyway, this article in today's NY Post reveals some mild spoilers about the upcoming episode about what characters will be around.

Re: 24: mild spoilers

Thank god. Tony was probably the only good character they had left besides Jack. Now we need some old school Jack + Tony ass beatings, Elisha Cuthbert's character needs to be raped and killed (nudity ftmfw), someone must be tortured and MORE [censored] CAR CRASHES

This show used to own hard, and it's been sliding lately. Get back to ruling.

Dude, what the hell Fox...I guess they released this major spoiler to avoid the jumping the shark-effect. Still tho, maybe they should just bring Sherry [censored] Palmer back too.

So...why fake-kill him off in the first place? Duuuuumb.

To make fans get more excited for season 7 of course. I mean it would be awesome if we get to see David Palmer, Nina, Michelle, and Sherry back in action. But they [censored] killed them all off. It would be kind of cool to see like a new season in between days 2 and 3 or something.

Despite being left for dead in the CTU infirmary, executive producer Howard Gordon pointed out "since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance - the '24' tribute to major character's demise - we always kept this as a possibility."

Was there a silent clock for Curtis?

Re: 24: mild spoilers

No silent clock for Curtis. Only for Teri, Mason, Palmer's almost death (s2),Chapelle,Edgar,and end of season 6.

So I guess since Tony's coming back due to lack of silent clock, I guess almost every single hero/villian is back this season! What a joke, Tony is dead, and he should stay dead.(And I loved Tony during seasons 2-4)

- anybody who things this was pre-planned and he was never actual dead in the mind of the producers/writers/... is [censored] retarded.

- anyone who still watches 24 is [censored] retarded.

It's been clear for the past few years that the writers of "24" have been incapable of thinking even a few shows ahead, so to believe they whacked Tony with full intention of bringing him back two seasons later is a little far-fetched.

Re: 24: mild spoilers

What I found amusing about the article was the assertion that the producers intentionally omitted the silent clock, just in case they wanted to bring Tony back.

I recall a discussion here about the silent clock at the time of the episode. I think some may even have wondered whether Tony was dead. I dismissed such talk as silliness. But I guess that silent clock thing actually is supposed to matter.

So did Jack/Chloe/Audrey/Bill not bother checking if Tony still had a pulse?

You can't expect them to remember every little thing, can you?

Someone should have set up a perimiter around Tony.

I remember them carrying Tony away in a stretcher...maybe not. I'd have to check. Either way, glad to have Tony back.

Start of the episode they put a sheet over him and rolled him out. So unless the two medics where a part of one of those secret, evil goverment agencies this is a dumb idea. And if they are part of a secret group, it's still a dumb idea.

It was the ole' "put the sheet over the guy and pretend he's dead so that the bad guys won't know otherwise routine."

Good plan, Tony's just going to jump out of nowhere seaason 7 and teach Henderson a lesson.

Re: 24: mild spoilers

I still watch the show because I've enjoyed seasons 1-5. The end of season 6 wasn't that bad and still pretty entertaining. I mean it's still a guilty pleasure now, but nothing else is as action packed and addicting as 24. The writers really need to have a better plan of their [censored] instead of making it up along the way. One thing, I like about Lost is at least they have some sort of storyboard plan.

jack bauer could know that tony isnt dead, just the audience doesnt. they declared him dead to protect him from further attacks.

at least thats what the writers will tell you.

I don't know how the goddamn writers will twist them...I guess they're geniuses if they could pull it off after being morons declaring him undead. I guess he wasn't really declared dead when they were conducting an autopsy (a miracle perhaps!). Then decided to just go rogue and into hiding with the depression from Michelle and his distrust of the government. Whatever I don't really care, I'm going to be a sucker and still watch this show.
