10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
villain is arbian night. dont know much about his game. he hasnt been active at all in the 20-30ish hands hes been at the table. is the flop check ok? what shall i do on the river? i dont have exact HH but it just happened so its clear in my mind.
6 handed, arbian raises utg+1 to 85, i pot it on the button to 280 or 290, he calls flop Q-J-3 rainbow check, i check turn A still rainbow he checks, i bet 400 into 530ish pot, he calls turn K pot: 1230 he checks, and has 1600 left behind |
Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
waaaaaaay too many hands want to CR and put more money in on that flop to check it, i thin it's a bad spot to mix it up and as played i'd probably check the river, even though i have no idea what you have i just assume three jacks.

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
oh yeah i have JJ lolzers

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
dont like flop check, but thats pretty obvious
turn is fine river i doubt he ever checks a T, so it just comes down to how often he's got you overset. i'd probably valuebet it though, putting him on AK or some other aces up here pretty often. maybe make it 800 to go? if he shoves, vomit. |

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
i think i shove here, but im not logical so it probably sucks or something. i don't mind the flop check at all either and think its good to mix it up

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
only w/ a lot of history w/ the villan would i check the flop here, as played bet like 800-1k

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
Arbian Night is a pretty big nit, so I would check this river against him, and expect to be oversetted a lot.
|
Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
ya he is really tight.
|
Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
well i suppose i know that now but at the time i had no idea arbiannight was tight and im not going to assume someone who plays on UB and i have seen before playing nosebleed on ftp is tight
i think since several v. good players in this thread disagree on check or bet/shove that it's probably pretty close between the two. i think shove is better w/o a read that the player is extraordinarily tight. my logic was/is that he NEVER has AA/QQ here, right? there's just no way imo. and i dont think he would call turn with TT. so basically i thought most of his range was made up of AK/AQ/hands that if they were going to call a bet would call a shove. so i shoved into KK holla. |
Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
i was posting under the assumption that he is very tight and will probably fold AK, it is probably a bet if youre assuming random

Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
valuetowwwwwwwwnnnnnnnn....!!
Your hand looks like a bluff a lot in this spot and even if he's smart enough to fold AK/AQ he won't feel good about it. If he's got a bigger set then his line sucks here and you should tell him that when/if he turns over KKK. |
Re: 10/25 6max set i play bad and have a river decision
When I see ppl post hands where they bluff in similar situations to this, there are a bunch of 'Terrible bluff, it's pretty obvious you have air here, you'll get looked up real light here,', which seems to make this a bet.
