Like I said, young and very immature. Since a lot of the posters here were 8 when it happened, we can't expect them to think of it in real terms. It's just something they read about in school.

Re: happy birthday terrorism

I dont mean cope personally with tragedy, i mean cope with a generation defining event. Because lets face it there were two worlds, pre 9/11 and post 9/11. I am canadian and was 14 when it happened and even i knew that it would effect the rest of my life.

Everybody finds humour in everything, Im not saying making will smith jiggydance on top of the falling WTC is funny, but if we are going to condemn that because it is sensitive for people, we might as well not make light of anything for those same reasons.

no, why would I?

EDIT: I'll laugh at jokes that make light of stereotypes if they're funny, but I think that's a little different. I actually don't even think I've ever heard a slavery or holcaust joke that was funny. Most of them try to elicit humor by being as offensive as possible. Shocking and offensive for it's own sake isn't funny. At least to me it isn't.

Because they're funny?

FYI, some people are bright enough to understand that joking around about something on the Internet doesn't diminish the scale of the tragedy or "disrespect" the dead in any recognizable way.
