99 hand

this was 50/100 ftp.

utg+1 is onetimepls or aXeroX on stars. he's solid, probably reading this. a little too aggro post flop though imo.

onetime opens, sb 3bets, i cap 99 in bb.

flop K33r

sb chks, i bet, onetime raises, sb folds.

what is my plan for here? does anyone think i'm obligated to sd if i call the flop bet?

I don't see how he can't have 88/AQ/AJ/AT/QJ here for example.

Re: 99 hand

I think I'd consider all 3 options preflop especially if SB is any good. As played I just fold unless I'm underestimating his spew factor postflop. I mean does he realize how far behind 88 is vs your capping range? If he can have 88 here how about 44? If that's all true I guess its a call down or a call, call, fold if he'll always take a free SD.

definitely merit there, but utg+1 is pretty taggy and so if he can fold weak offsuit hands like KTo etc that is a huge victory. though i don't know if anyone folds for two more preflop these days...esp in position.

You don't only beat 55-88, he can have alot more. I play with him alot on party and stars.

Your hand reminded me of this hand I played yesterday vs a friend of him who plays very similar:

and it becomes more and more apparent that most players who are crushing the bigger online games do not post on 2+2.

I think if we're ahead here, he's probably more likely to have a hand like 87s with a backdoor flush draw than 88 or 44.
