1) Playing a round of golf. You can move very quickly if you're solo and people let you play through. Also it's more peaceful and you can cheat as much as you want, play multiple balls, etc.

2) Going to a museum/art gallery. I like to go at my own pace, usually faster than anyone I'd be with.

3) Watching a movie. I like being able to pause multiple times and go do something else. This is especially true if it's a good movie. It gives me something to look forward to the rest of the day. I guess that sounds pretty pathetic. God 3L is boring.

Im with you on all 3, the only one I like w/ people as much w/o is golf, but the other 2, I dont like anyone around.

I like to just lay on my couch and have nobody around so I can just veg out, watch TV, and be a slob without having to be polite, etc.

I also like to go to movies (at movie theatre) alone. I'm not sure why.

ya playing poker while friends are watching ( that dont really understand the game) is pretty crap, done it once never again.

Going to gym alone is alot better, actually do alot more.

Same here. I also like sitting at the bar at a decent restaurant and eating lunch alone.

Definitely lunch - while I'm a pretty social person, after an annoying morning at work I really want to get away from my coworkers and just relax for an hour before getting back to it.

There's nothing worse than a coworker that wants to talk about work during lunch...ugh.

traveling - I much prefer to set my own schedule and pace of adventure when I go traveling. This will probably change as I get older and have wife/kids etc.

Going to museums - I really hate going to museums with other people, everyone wants to go at a different pace and if you feel rushed, or are the rusher it just makes everyone have a miserable time.

A friend of mine about 7 years older than me once said, "the hardest activity to find a good companion for is traveling."

i like watching sporting events alone, i don't want to answer my moms stupid questions or argue with my friends about who should be the closer, i just want to watch the game.

Before I became a daddy I used to love going ice climbing alone. No standing around freezing putting in ice screws and belaying a partner. Just swing/swing kick/kick forgetting about everything else in the world except for moving upwards.

I dont nec think you have to be an alcoholic, its a great way to relax before you shower and go out for the night. Its how I "pre-game"

standard. I never shop with anyone anymore, except for the night before christmas eve, where a couple friends and I have a tradition of loading up our flasks and fighting the crowds at the mall

Fishing. Ever since I bought a boat everyone wants to go with me. Once I tell them that we are leaving at 3 in the morning I usually get out of having anyone want to tag along.

I like working out and playing poker alone. I had a few guys I used to hang out with and they wouldn't play poker because they had no one to go with.. wtf??

I like doing a lot of stuff alone. I'm pretty good at it, and it gives me a chance to be myself, detach and observe the world at large, if I choose.

Traveling is way up there, but mostly in the sense that I love to wander around and explore new places by myself without worrying what other people want to do.
