FTP Mulligan Deep

HH didnt transfer for some reason so please bare with me.

About 40 people or so left. I have 55K been very tight. Have been card dead for the past few orbits. Villain is APPLEBUD and has raised my BB from the button a couple times (at least 3x BB bets). Seems pretty solid. He has around 60K.

Hand in question. Please let me know what you think about this line. I know standard may be to repop PF.

Blinds 500-1000..8 handed

All fold to button
Villain raises 3599 from button.
SB folds
Hero smooth calls with AQoff.

FLOP 234r
(pot 9k)
Hero checks
Villain fires 4899.
Hero calls.

Turn K (completing rainbow)
(pot 17K)
Hero leads for 11K..

c/shoving turn way better then bet/folding.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

I thought about doing that, but if checks behind on turn, then what do u do? I feel like I would be pretty much done with the hand because he would call me down very light on the river if I lead. Then again its reasonable that im ahead here anyhow.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

I would rather c/c than check/shove turn. As his turn betting range should be air/Kx+, as he'll often pot control medium pairs w/ showdown value.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

HH should be in c:\ProgramFiles\FullTilt\HandHistory\<username& gt;. This is converter

Flat call is OK, but I would usually reraise preflop.

Flop is an action flop, since any ace has a gutshot, and any pp is an over pair or set. I would probably checkraise the flop.

I am not sure what to do on the turn.

So you would c/c a ~10Kish bet on turn with ace high? Then what?

Do you just shove? Would u ever 3-bet/fold with these stacks?

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

I'm not saying I would c/c in this specific instance, i'm saying that c/c > c/shove imo. Although, fold might be better than both.

b3b flop sounds like fun if you have the image for it.

If you 3-bet preflop, I course you call a push.

so push pf, b3b flop, c/push flop, c/c flop c/shove turn, c/c flop c/c turn...interesting.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

Its just a contrast of playing styles, which you are going to see a lot of when you post a hand in isolation. However, I think most of us are aggro enough when playing in the blinds that AQ is the [censored] straight up nizzles homie to 3bet/call. Your probably way too nitty in your BvB play.

As it stands, basically every line is better than the one you took. It's a good thing you weren't playing against me because I never fail to fold when players lines don't make sense. I don't mind playing a king in this way because no one will give you credit for it, but bluffing this card is not a good idea.

And no one said push pf.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

Preflop AQ is way ahead of villain's range. On the flop, you are 37% against an underpair and way ahead of most high card hands. If villain has a big pair, AK, or a set, you are way behind, but have outs. So I would semibluff both preflop and on the flop.

Preflop, you are 58% and on the flop you are 63% against a top 20% range for villain, which is a reasonable tight range for the button.

Can you run some math on a reasonable shoving range for villain after we c/r to 14k or wahtever?

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

Your line: call, call, bet out on turn, looks like weakness. I'll raise over it most of the time because it's hard to imagine anyone playing a strong hand that way. This is especially true when the K, which could easily hit Villain's range, comes out.

I'd 3bet/call preflop. As played, C/R the flop or turn is very dangerous, I don't think any hand that has us beat is folding, except maybe AK if we do it on the flop, but even that is highly debatable. On this rainbow raggy board, we can't credibly represent any hand. No one's folding an overpair here on the flop, and no one's believing that we hit the K on the turn (what did we call pre and on the flop with? KT?) and there are no underpairs. As played, I'd C/F the flop.

What has us beat on the flop? AA-QQ, AK, and 22-55. You will get action as a 5-3 dog from some pps, but you also may fold some pps and get action from weaker aces you have crushed.

Preflop, this is button versus blind, so I would treat AQ as the nuts.

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

For the same reasons, no one is ever folding any overpair on this flop.

Ive planned on doing this before, but then got lost when my bet just got smooth called and the turn didnt improve. Do you usually just shut down from there?

Re: FTP Mulligan Deep

I almost always re-raise this preflop. Why not re-raise to 14k and shove any flop? Lot of value in that he'll fold preflop or after the flop. Not a ton more than psb.
