Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sign up

Official Sports Betting forum Fantasy Footbal League (SBFFL): Sign up details and rules

NOTE THAT OFFICIAL DOES NOT MEAN IN ANY WAY SPONSORED OR SANCTIONED BY 2+2 just the "official" FFL organized through this, the Sports Betting forum, much in the same way the 3+1 picks challenge is not sponsored by 2+2 but is the "official" picks challenge of this forum.

We'll be drafting and playing on ESPN: http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/frontpage
ESPN has changed it so that they're completely free this year, including live scoring. So that's good.

Ten to twelve players (teams) per league. We'll run as many leagues (divisions) as we had interest.

Live draft, of course.

Stakes:

Four levels:

Hall of Fame: $200
Pro Bowl: $100
Veteran: $50
Rookie: $25

100% of monies go to the prize pool

I'm willing to start an interest list for any stakes if someone wants to play higher or lower stakes. These levels are just what we played last year.

You can sign up for multiple levels but can only sign up once per level.

We'll have divisions inside each level as needed (i.e. if 24 people sign up at $200 like last year, we'll have Hall of Fame EAST and WEST).

Payout format:

40%/30%/20%/10% structure for the top four if leagues are 10-12 players.
50%/30%/20% if leagues are 8 man.

Draft Schedule:

for latest draft details, see this reply down the thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...umber=11925625

Drafts should take between one and two hours depending on how quickly everyone runs.

Sign up details:

Sign up by doing exactly the following:

1) post in this thread "i'm in for X league"

2) send me a PM (or email: SBFFL [at] performify [dot] com). I need the following info:

I need your 2+2 name, your email address, your level(s) playing, and your payment details.
Example: JoeBob sends me a PM that says "Sent $100 on Stars from "joebob123". email is joebob at hotmail.com"

3) send your payment.

Send payment before the draft, or else you will not be allowed to draft.

I must have your email address to invite you to the league.

Payment details:

Poker Site transfers: "performify" on Stars and Full Tilt. Stars is preferred.
Location will be either "Kansas City" or "Smithville" depending on the site.

Note that my screen name is performiFy: "eye FFFF why" and not "eye TEE why".
also its all lower case on Stars (the only site that caps matter AFAIK).

Paypal or Fed Ex are available as a last resort. Please PM for details.

If your pokersite name isn't exactly the same as your forum name, please include that information in the PM or email with the name of the account you'll be paying from so I can correlate the two.

=======================================
RULES (exact same as last year)
=======================================

we will go for 10 or 12 teams per league. More than 12 dilutes the pool too much, in my opinion.

Starting rosters will be 1 QB; 3 WR; 2 RB; 1 TE; 1 K; 1 DEF (team).
Teams will have 15 total players, so six bench players (any position).
No injured reserve beyond the bench.

We will use a Free Agent / Waivers system.

Regular season will run from week 1 to week 14. we'll have two playoff brackets: the top four teams (1vs4, 2vs3) for a superbowl and the next four for a toilet bowl. postseason will be week 15 and 16.

Offensive statistics and point modifiers:
Every 25 passing yards: 1 point
Each passing TD: 6 points
Each interception thrown: -2 points
Every 10 rushing yards: 1 point
Each rushing TD: 6 points
Every 10 receiving yards: 1 point
Each receiving TD: 6 points
Each return TD: 6 points
Each Off Fum Ret TD: 6 points
Each 2-point conversion: 2 points
Each fumble lost: -2 points

Kicking statistics and point modifiers:
Field goal 0-39 yards: 3 points
Field goal 40-49 yards: 4 points
Field goal 50+ yards: 5 points
Each extra point: 1 point

Defensive statistics and point modifiers:
Each sack: 1 point
Each interception: 2 points
Each fumble recovery: 2 points
Each TD: 6 points

I'm officially signing up for the $200 league only, but will play in any or all of the others as necessary to balance out teams (i.e. only if there are an odd number of signups).

Also, Wednesday next week seemed like the best time for the draft with labor day and all and since the season starts on Thursday. If people want to change, we can look at changing on a league by league basis.

Right now, there are no good draft times open on ESPN -- if we go by their availability we'd have to draft during the day on the weekend or during a weekday next week, or starting at midnight eastern on Wednesday (so 9pm PST). If people want I can stack all the drafts then (like 12:00, 12:15, 12:30, 1:00 am EST on Wednesday).

I'm looking for low-cost / free alternatives.

If anyone has any suggestions on solutions for drafting please let me know.

I'm down for the rookie one, never played fantasy football before, but this should be fun.
I'm west coast so any time after 6pm (PST) on Wed will work.

Tilt. I won't spend any time on any of these leagues. Well enough to make it worthwhile, but I'll spend enough of my time to waste a gajillion hours of my time that could be spent doing actual positive EV activities rather than trading dollars back and forth between other sharps. (Like sneaking into a HSNL league or something of the sort... Or actually gambooling)

Hall of Fame. Holla!

Yahoo has free ffl. I don't know anything about reserving draft times though, or if that's even necessary.

Pro Bowl league signer upper!

I will also do a 50 or 25 dollar league if teams need to be filled.

Yahoo the site itself is free but everyone would have to pay individually (or as a group) for live scoring.

There are a number of pay options (i'd consider Yahoo a pay option, live scoring is a must).

/Still looking around.

One thing you can do is do the draft via yahoo, then import them into ESPN, but that would require some legwork.

Re: Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sig

ESPN really is the best site out there. The free live scoring and site interface makes it much better than Yahoo.

I'm not a regular on here, but read a lot and post semi-often. I'd be in for the $25 or $50 league.

There are a number of mock draft sites out there. There is even a mock draft program on ESPN. I don't know if that could work out for the drafts, but there are a lot of options so I'd imagine one of them would.

you could do the draft in an aim/irc chat room if getting a draft time at a certain site is a problem

Re: Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sig

i personally think yahoo has the slickest interface and easiest to use roster and stuff, def. worth the 10 dollars for live scoring (10 dollars includes all the leagues you play, plus the stat tracker interface is sweet).

Anyone have a specific recommendation? I've been looking but can't find anything that will work.

This will be a huge pain as people can't see who's still available, but might be our only option outside of drafting at midnight eastern.

I'm not sure why drafting in the afternoon would be a problem. Its not like any of us have jobs.

Re: Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sig

Heh.

Let me lay it out once clearly:

OPTIONS FOR DRAFTING:

During the afternoon on a weekday (tuesday or wednesday next week, any time from noon EST to 5pm EST)

During the afternoon this weekend (saturday / sunday / monday)

At midnight EST on a weekday (tuesday midnight EST probably)

Draft offline (via chat / this forum / whatever)

Find a third party draft site (still looking for suggestions)

Move to Yahoo! Plus (cost = $125 per league so $12.50 per person, can do up to 20 man leagues which would be ~$7 per person). This includes live scoring etc but would be a per league fee (so if you were in four leagues you'd be paying four times).

Move to CBSsportsline (cost = $150 per league so $15 per person for a ten team league) where we can draft whenever we want.

I'm honestly fine with any of the above.

Re: Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sig

Looking at the mock drafts sites, I was really only familiar with espn's and fantasyfootballcalculator's softwares.

I went over to the ESPN Mock Draft Lobby and while it's not possible to create a league just to have your friends do a mock draft at a certain time, they line up leagues available to join.

In the next 45 minutes, there are 55 open mock drafts available to join. Out of the 55 open mock drafts, 49 have 0 people in them. It seems like it would be easy to all of us in a league to join one at the same time and get in. That'd enable us to choose our time/date completely. There are some 10 teams there and some 12 teams...

Re: Sports Betting Forum Fantasy Football League 2007 - (SBFFL) -- sign up

Please count me in for the $200. Would also play higher, maybe $500 if there's any interest.

As for the draft i think it's better that we do everything on ESPN. As i'm on Central European time i have no problem drafting in the afternoon EST :-)

I have been in a keeper league for years and we use a site called Fanball.com. I have had no problems with it and I believe this year it cost 69.00 to use. It has live scoring, and everything else you need including very detailed custom scoring and rules. Also you can put players on teams without drafting them if people wanted to draft via aim then move the teams. Also if you want to use it again next year I believe it will keep all the owner and team info there so all you have to do is confirm with everyone next year and have league already set up.
I can draft any day and time since like most of us have no real job or schedule.

In for the $200 league and the $100 league.

If players are needed elsewhere, I can sign up for another $200 league and drop the $100 or whatever.

Edit: I can't draft on any weekday afternoons.

DRAFT TIMES UPDATED

Tuesday September 4th
Hall of Fame WEST ($200) : 11:00pm EST (8:00 pm PST)

Tuesday September 4th (really this is MONDAY NIGHT September 3rd for most people)
Hall of Fame EAST ($200) : 12:15am EST (9:15pm PST monday night)
Pro Bowl ($100) : 12:15am EST (9:15pm PST monday night)
Veteran ($50) : 12:15am EST (9:15pm PST monday night)
Rookie ($25) : 12:15am EST (9:15pm PST monday night)

Sorry about the late time for east coasters but this is the best we can do right now.

I'll do my best to move things around if other times open up, but right now I've got the leagues with these times reserved as listed above.

Draft will be 12:15am EST on tuesday morning (just after midnight on monday evening) for most leagues. I managed to snag one $200 league hole at 11:00 est. If more times open up I'll move the drafts back as well.

From the feedback above it looks like this will work for everyone.
