Towards the end of a Stars $3.30+R...is this a call or a fold?

What reasons do I have to call or fold here? No reads on Villain at this time.

if you have no reads, then i would fold if i were you

but personally, i would call since that looks like a typical button steal and my ace is good ...plus, he is relatively short stacked

also good for your image, lets people know not to be stealing your blinds in the future since you might call them with a marginal hand =p

I think I call here. He's pushing pretty wide with 11 BBs on the button.

Let's take it a step further past that brilliant analysis of mine...what should your calling range be here? How is it affected (if at all) by the fact that you have the 2nd largest stack directly to your left? (not necessarily in this particular hand, but in terms of table dynamics in general)

mhmm...when he is on the button with a low M...i think his range of the cards he plays is much bigger... perhaps its a call or a fold for me... I can't say it. but only this, i think he tends to play weaker cards.
other meanings?

quatro, what range of hands do you think he will be pushing with?

Re: Towards the end of a Stars $3.30+R...is this a call or a fold?

perhaps something like ace-x(where the x is a 5 or something like this) is enough for him to steal. but when u think: how many aces are better then ur ace nine. there is AT, AJ AQ, AK.
but u beat A8, A7, A6, A5 and perhaps he want to steal with A4. perhaps he has got something like small suited connectors? why not 89s? JTs?

Why not 92o...I think he's pushing any 2. Call all day long...

I think shooter is close in terms of As, and I think obviously a lot wider like he says. I don't have poker stove on this computer, but would a pushing range of top 35-40% be too much to expect here from an unknown?

Antes of 1000 mean his m is <5 which means A9o shapes up well enough against his range to call i think. {e.g. if he pushes what pokerstove says is top 20% it's a call}. But it's close.

I call here with your chip stack and his position.

Villain shoving range is probably wide enough to make this a profitable call.

Re: Towards the end of a Stars $3.30+R...is this a call or a fold?

I assumed this Villain was a smart player like all of us here at 2p2 and gave him credit for all PPs, all aces and all broadway combinations, which is about top 27% (so I guess the answer to your question bambam is no), and my equity was JUST above 50%, so I definitely think its close.

As a note to that statement, I think his range is that wide because of his given M and the fact that he is the first in the pot gives him more FE. We might be able to add more cards to his range, but chip equity does not equal money equity; plus, I think having 400k+ chips will allow me to boss the medium stacks around more effectively, so it could mean more to me in future hands.

Wow Antes too?

Even without antes he *should* be pushing all pairs, all aces, all two cards 9 and above, and most all SC. (top 32%+)

Were 52/48 or better against that range. With antes, his range should be even wider. All pairs, aces, kings, any two cards both 8 or above, all SC and one gappers, most unsuited no gappers too.

I think this is a pretty easy call myself, unless I have a read that he is a nit, or I know he plays way too tight from optimal.

Even if he is weak, he might just have a poor sense of *which* hands he should be pushing, and he will push all his aces, pairs, and all his sooooted cards or something. Many players will push about half their hands in this spot from the button. If I think he is like that its a snap call. If I really think he folds two thirds or more of his buttons when folded to with this stack size, it can be folded.. but that would be pretty rare. Like It would have to be live and he is old.

I think people are soooo wide in spots like this that I cannot see folding. I likely call A7,pairs,KQ, maybe even KJ.

People overplay the button so often here with any two cards.

Gotta call.

i gotta go with calling too...people saying that hes only pushing 11BB with Ax and all pairs: you are giving him too much respect we have to assume hes an aggressive player and i know as an aggresive player folded to me on the button im pushing any KTs+
