BBV4L...recommend some good rap/hip-hop songs for my ipod
 

I'm not a big fan of this genre, but every so often some chick is in my car, want's to listen to some hip-hop, and can't find any on my ipod...apparently not many women are into the smashing pumpkins [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]...so help a brotha out..give me a top 10 or something that I should ..."get"...I don't even know who the popular artists are right now..old stuff or new stuff is fine...feel free to recommend me some good alternative rock songs as well..that's normally what I listen to..or even good emo type stuff

it will be much appreciated..I need to seriously restock before school starts...gogogogo

Load up on Black Sheep. You definitely want "The Choice is Yours" (i.e. the "this or that" song), and there's other good stuff on the album.

You're also legally obligated to have OPP on there. Also, get something from Arrested Development to trick the ladies into thinking your socially conscious.

never really payed attention to rap...but i have never been familiar with album names anyway...I don't even know the names of most smashing pumpkins albums..probably because I have bought maybe 5 cds in my life...

this thread will probably get me started on some good stuff though..maybe i'll get into it.

Jay-Z is all flash, little substance. A garbage Emcee with pedestrian lyrics. A good first album followed by years of crap tells you pretty much all you need to know about an artist.

Go to your favorite mp3 downloading software and search for songs by an aritst named DL Incognito. Most probably don't know who he is since he's from another country named Canada.

about 2 years ago in the car with my friend he had reasonable doubt in his car and to that day I said I hated rap no talent blablabla until for some reason after listening to that cd I spent about a year downloading rap on the internet because that cd is so mother [censored] sick. and now I really like rap. cool huh

Its very different from the mainstream "gansta" rap

I couldnt find it anywhere but itunes store tho, so i had to actually buy it (wtf)

biggie is the best rapper ever, not comparing jay-z to him (reading comprehension ftw). The fact that you compare DL to Jay-Z is laughable. Who cares about some rap battle, it's all about producing MUSIC, not just raw battle tapes. DL has weak flow too .

Jay-Z will never be new again, obv you aren't going to get blown away by someone's Nth album of pretty much the same stuff, but I think e.g. The Watcher 2 and Renegade easily hold up to anything else he's done in his career, off the top of my head.
