which poker pro is the most educated ?

Chris Ferguson has a PhD in computer science UCLA but it took him 20 years.

Bill Chen has a PhD in mathematics from UCB (I think).

Barray Greenstein is a PhD candidate in mathematics at University of Illinois (not sure how he's doing on that one).

David Sklansky spent a year at Wharton but dropped out.

Mason Malmuth has a masters in math.

Mike Caro, not sure.

Greg Raymer has a JD.

Huck Seed dropped out of Cal Tech engineering bachelors.

Vanessa Rousso went to Duke where she studied game theory and maybe is trying to finish law school but maybe dropped out.

Without looking it up, I'm quite sure Rousso finished law school at Miami. Then there's Annie Duke who finished all of her Linguistics PhD but the dissertation, and who seems--sorry--so much less intelligent than other PhD candidates I've known. PhD students in linguistics shouldn't use incorrect grammar, in my opinion.

Also, OP didn't mention the many MIT dignitaries.

Well if you are including VR as a poker pro, I think Andy Blcoh has 2 community college degrees.

Bill Chen PhD math UCB in 7 years is tops for me so far.

But check out Raymer : B.S. Chemistry – University of Missouri, M.S. Biochemistry – University of Minnesota, J.D. – University of Minnesota

Why ?

It's well-known that pro poker potentially offers a lucrative career option for those that didn't have the opportunity to pursue an eduction, or who didn't like or didn't fit into the educational system.

It's also interesting to think about why those with excellent educations would instead choose to pursue poker. It gives insight into the type of person that chooses poker.

The first case looks like the most potential candidate for professional poker. The latter case must have made significantly more playing poker and/or did not like enough of their chosen education/job.

If I would be interested of higher education and working there, I would, but as I am not, I do something more fitting to my bird's brain and just add poker to that (my small, weak and slow brain can handle the smaller computations with experience). Maybe I do better at poker when I am ready, maybe not but it's worth the shot as I do have a brain - that can't be said about most of the people.

There is no name professionals who are highly educated. Computer science and engineering degrees are only applied mathematics. They are middle range degrees. A Law or Medicine degree is 3 times more difficult to achieve. And any dumbo can become a patent attorney.

Difficult in terms of ... ?

The % of world's population who are capable of attaining a PhD in math or computer science from a name university is probably 1/100 % those capable of attaining an advanced degree in medicine or law.

You don't have to be ultra smart, creative, and comfortable with a "blank piece of paper" to get an advanced degree in medicine or law.

In fact, I've heard law school is rather easy.
