Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

There has been tons of discussion on the topic of worst hands ever played and this particular hand...

Anyone have a link to a thread?

That said, it is a classic!!

I like Phil's reaction, but JH's is almost as funny. She looks like she's about to throw up.

It was a terrible play. I couldn't believe it at the time, but give her a break already. If somehow Patrick did have quad kings, this thread would read "quite possible the best no bet of all time"

But he didn't have pocket kings, he had 10-8...so please, continue the attack.

I have a feeling that PA put her on a strong hand (prob stared at her heaving breasts like we all did). He probably thought that if he hit his draw that he could probably stack her on that hand.

after she flops top set u can visibly see her chest heaving, such an obvious tell of strength, pretty nice to look at too!!! after she checks the river, everyone seems to be actually embarrassed FOR her!!!!!! painful to watch!!!

Give her credit. She put him on pocket Ks on the turn and didn't waver when the second K fell.

True, the real amateurs would've have dismissed quads when the second king fell, but she obviously has enough knowledge to put that in his range. That's obviously why she has a bracelet and we don't!

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

Well see with Antonius super tight image, he knows the only way to get paid with quads is to check the turn and river. Tilly was a little too smart for that trap though. Yes, some small % of the time he may have middle pair there. But any strong player knows you have to go with the odds.

I bet you anything she was lost in a daydream about leaving Phil for Patrick. If its anyone else she bets there.

This has to be some type of joke... No one is that bad, especially if they have won a large tournament.

I've heard about this hand, but hadn't seen it until now. At first I thought maybe she thought she was OOP and Antonius would bet the river, but there's just no way.

No ... Way.

The other month, in a multi-table high buy-in PokerStars tournament, a player checked a nut straight flush in position in a three way pot, where the other two had king-high and ace-high flushes (only 3 spades on board). For me, nothing will ever beat that. I suppose he did misread his hand though but still...And there was no collusion which was for sure.

Veil I have seen that kind of play from BBV before and I know what your talking about definitely horrendous stuff, but I think this hand is still played worse. If anything there could always be an argument that they misclicked that will save that player's action, where in this instance she said, as the reason for her checking the turn and river was that, and im laughing while writing..."i thought he had pocket kings." just too funny

And would you have folded the boat if he had bet on the river?

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

that whole boobs moving up and down when she breathes has to be a huge disadvantage, i knew she had pocket jug...err jacks without the hole cam

it's only terrible because she didn't bet out, if she bets the turn and he just calls, who knows, if she then bets the river and he has kings, he's going to come over the top and then you can fold, it's almost like she just acted too fast

and why do they think it's cool for them to have stacks of cash at the table, what they could come up with enough chips for all of them? the cash aspect is just dumb

trypto 09-27-2007 08:36 PM

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

As bad as that is, there are far worse things that she could have done. For example, she could have folded to a bet on the river. If she had bet the river, she wouldn't have made any money anyway, maybe she knew that?

Could also be she's trying to build up a bimbo image by checking down a FH. This might just be part of her game, to win more later. (I didn't watch the rest of the match but I somehow doubt she won

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

What about the Chad Brown/Kristy Gazes hand where there was quads on the board. She thought it was a chopped pot and Chad checked his Ace on the river because he thought she had an aces and didn't want to waste her time. That was pretty horrible from both sides.

NoSetNoBet 09-28-2007 05:28 PM

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

The best part about it is trying to figure out what gave her the read of "i thought you had kings". Was it all the aggressive calling and checking by Antonius? Or was it just because he's Patrick Antonius?

Or was she just trying to get laid?

Re: Quite possibly one of the worst played hands, ever.

Timid Canuck laying down AK preflop in the WPT has to be a top ten idiot move.
