Villain is 42/17/2 over a decent sample. I'm pretty sure all i beat is a bluff...right? Also, checking the turn is good, or am i just being results orientated...?

I think you either fold or shove turn.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

you can't fold the turn at better than 3:1 with that much money left behind, especially against someone that likely has a big hand.

Nononono. He can valuebet all kinds of stuff, including the ever present AA. You got to call. And betting the turn is fine. 4 card straights on the board plays nowhere near like a flush board. Much, MUCH easier for villain to ignore unless you suddenly shove all in.

Shove that sucker on the turn, he could have so many hands that you have crushed. If your beat, you got unlucky; a majority of the time you will be good in this situation.

Betting turn is fine, as is the call. Shoving in this spot is beyond horrible.

As played call river, really only behind the 6, and while I think villain shows up with it hear a decent percentage, I think a lot of time you are up against 2 pair.

BTW looking at it again, I don't think villain raises turn here if he hit teh straight...to me is a def. call.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

You just call on the flop and bet on the turn after his check. Why do you do that on the turn? For value? I really do not like it. Either raise flop and check/bet turn regarding of his actions or call flop and check turn to reach showdown without a lot of money in this case that you do not know if your hand is good or not.

No way I'm folding the river to this little bet.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

Personally I would raise the flop

However, since you did not I would check behind on the turn and then unless I boated up I would

1. Call a river bet
2. If checked to I would make a small bet like 1/4 to 1/3 the pot
3. If check raised on the river I would fold

If there's a hand other than 66 he's beating you with I'd like to hear what it is?

I can't see a fold here, if he has 66 you get felted and that's poker.

i bet the turn for value (obv i just turned a set). I think raising the flop is bad because we only have a small overpair and only hands that are ahead of us call the raise...effectively turning our hand into a bluff...

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

agianst this villan?
A7 flush draws and any 6 are are large part of his range IMO
im rasing the flop for value/charge draws these kind of donk bets are almost always a draw/weak made hand IMO

though alot of FD are flipping/slight fav agianst us so I hear what your saying.

give me a break, he's not playing 9-6 or 6-4 unless he's a real donk or OP is a payoff monkey. I'll buy the others if he's a super LAG. No wonder I'm murdering the micros.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

god there is realyl weird advice in a lot of the threads lately.

I like betting the turn if I know this guy likes to make some biggish bluffs with flushes etc. If he's not and kinda tight after betting the flop (ie he'll usually bet/bet his mediocre hands, so with his line he's more liekly to have complete air/straight) then its obviously a check.

This is really player specific though. I don't think he'll ever check/call with a draw. If he checks the draw he's gunna raise it when you bet, thats if he doesn't bet it. Without any info on the guy I'd probably prefer checking behidn on the turn and seeing a river.

And no your not 50/50 on the turn versus a lot of draws, wtf? this isn't omahaha....

i dont really mind checking turn.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

also I'd never bet turn fold to a river bet. If he's got the draw he's going to bet the river.

Re: 50NL: Folding another set

Why?! Hero smacks himself for folding a set to such a small river bet because of his fear of closet monsters.

To give you a bunch of hands he could have that you beat - two random diamond cards, suited K, all sorts of 2-pairs and even 3 OTHER smaller sets. Of all that bunch you're scared of the KK (excluded by the action) and the 13 hands that have a 6?! This is a very bad fold imho.
