I bet here. Villain could have medium pairs or something like AXc that he calls with.

I think I also call a raise against an unknown. You are generally ahead. If he had a boat, he probably would have raised the turn. If he had 88, well that's life.

Well enough reasoned, I think, but on the other hand we might induce him to bet if we check to his Ax. Then we get a bet if we win and don't have to call or fold to a raise if we are behind.

I thought about the c/c (naturally, I think of everything! ), but given villain cold called and shown no aggression I assumed he's reasonably loose passive and will call more hands than he will bet.

Re: another edition of \"bet the river\" OOP

So, we're betting this river because we'd expect him to raise earlier had be made 2pair trips (flop) or a boat(turn), and now hope he'll call because he wants to see what we have and/or just thinks his A high is good here.

Re: another edition of \"bet the river\" OOP

I would bet and make a crying, crying call if he raises. Unless the five hits u may choose to c/c (I think betting is normally better though), especially agaisnt an unknown. That 5 makes him pay-off a lot of trash though.
