... but watch out for in your ear

So tonight, instead of taking the 2 hour drive to SF for a party, I stayed in with a good bottle of beer, a roasted chicken, and a good loaf of bread. As the title indicates, I watched Field of Dreams.

Is there a better sports movie? I get choked up at least 4 parts of it. James Earl Jones performance is incredible. Anyone who doesn't get goosebumps during his baseball speech isn't human. Anyone who doesn't get choked up when Doc Graham is shaking hands with the ballplayers doesn't have a heart.

So let's hear it - what's the best sports movie? This is my pick, but is it really Hoosiers? Bull Durham? Major League? A League of Their Own? I'm missing tons I'm sure.

Raging Bull, Rocky, The Natural, I loved. Bull Durham, Yes. Field of Dreams, Yes. Hoosiers just okay for me and never really watched League of Their Own. Major League good.

The big three for me are Rocky, Field of Dreams and Bull Durham. Not a fan of The Natural.

Field of Dreams is excellent.

Bull Durham and Slap Shot are better for me.

Kingpin and Raging Bull too if you consider them sports movies.

Re: ... but watch out for in your ear

Raging Bull I'm not sure if I consider it a sports movie.

I'm not proud to say I've never seen Slap Shot. Bits and pieces, but never the whole thing.

I may be the only one who thinks the Natural is good, but not great. I think Field of Dreams is much better.

My favorite baseball movie is probably my favorite movie ever, Bull Durham.

The Natural is terrible after reading the book. Field of Dreams is sappy [censored].

Bull Durham rules.

I didn't really like Bull Durham when i first saw it (maybe 5 years ago) I thought it was too much of a chick flick. Maybe I will rewatch it.
Field of Dreams is awesome.
Major League is good.
Rocky IV is probably the best movie in the history of mankind.

Bill Simmons also says Bull Durham is a chick flick, and I have never understood how anyone could think it is. Where does this come from?

I know it isn't the "best" sports movie, but Rudy is my favorite.

Depends upon your interpretation of this...

I hate most sports movie since they're all the same movie, for the most part.

Rocky 1,3 and 4 I love.
Major League is my fav baseball movie. (I guess you have to really love baseball to like FoD)
Never seen a good basketball movie.
Remember the Titans was okay, only football movie I can remember seeing that was decent.
Tin Cup, Caddyshack, and Happy Gilmore are excellent.

Remember the Titans is a great movie becuase it doesnt end with the underdog winning it goes beyond and has a more serious meaning.

Favorite still though is Field of Dreams...

surprised that nobody mentioned Any Given Sunday.

Some of my favorites that come to mind are The Sandlot, White Men Can't Jump, Tin Cup, and A League of Their Own. There are a number of other great ones, but I think listing 20+ is a bit much.
