Re: Best sports video clip by far
I watch it about once a week, and it still chokes me up almost every time. I have a few minor quibbles with some of the selections and omissions, but overall they did a pretty damn amazing job.

I feel ashamed that I don't know around 20% of those clips.

Re: Best sports video clip by far
Whoever made that video has a crazy hard on for Muhammad Ali.
Should he be in the video, yes, should he be one of the more prominent figures in the video, sure. But he and MJ have at least 10 times the screen time of anyone else. |

Tom Chambers, wtf?

Zero soccer = Amazingly ridiculous.
Inless this is supposed to be just North American sports.. but even then. Do the majority of American's know more about the WNBA or World Cup? |
Re: Best sports video clip by far
Being a Chicagoan... I consider myself lucky to have witnessed MJ and Walter, two of the best at what they did.
Cool video.... missed the White Sox World Series win though, Pastrana's double backflip on a motorcycle, the olympic sprinter who pulls up lame and his dad helps him finish the race, and the ski jumper wipeout from Wide World of Sports. |

Zero soccer = Amazingly ridiculous. [/ QUOTE ] There is a short Pelé clip in there, but I agree soccer could have been more represented, although it is obviously geared towards a U.S. audience. To the comment about it being too Ali and MJ centric, they are clearly two of the top three athletes of the century, along with Babe Ruth, who was also very prominently featured (especially considering the relative amount of footage available compared to other two). Also, we're dealing with iconic images. When I first viewed it, I thought they completely missed Jerry Rice, the greatest receiver and arguably the greatest NFL player of all time. It turns out he had a brief flash. But really, how many truly iconic moments did he command? As far as Tom Chambers, that clip was like a half a second, and totally warranted inclusion, precisely for its WTF element. And the White Sox winning the WS happened after this video was compiled. It was an end of the century thing. |

Tom Chambers, wtf? [/ QUOTE ] ha.. when I saw that I planned on posting about it. It's one of the nastiest facials in NBA history. |
