3 bet pot AQ finds an ace high flop 100 NL, flop decision

I'm playing 21/16/3 no stats on villain, reads are he is decent, prolly wouldn't raise me without an ace. Raise size made me wonder ( a bit small).

Re: 3 bet pot AQ finds an ace high flop 100 NL, flop decision

here is his range

set/air/AK-AT

this is the perfect flop for you...it has no high cards that he could have hit 2pr on, legit TT/99/QQ sets or something...you can easily have air yourself if you have been active at all on the table w/ 3 bets...

get the damn money in. if he has AK u can see why hes making a bad play if you are considering folding AQ here and if he has air you can consequently see why this is a good move.

So...get it in.
id just call and check turn to him and see if he wants to go for the gusto cuz hes not putting any more money in here with a large portion of his range which is air.

if he has a set he has a set, nh.

this one looks more like a set. or another pocket pair that missed. probably still stack off.

OK I get your point.
My thinking at the time was that his range was sets,AQ+ and air very rarely, that's why I was considering folding.
I like your line calling and checking turn by the way.

im folding never

i had a guy play K8s similarly against me the other day when i led AQ in to an Axx board (no K or 8 or flush draw)

Re: 3 bet pot AQ finds an ace high flop 100 NL, flop decision

OK but my read was that air was a very small part of his range

I was considering folding thinking I'm behind his range (sets, AQ+)

Why the crai? There is one more street coming.

ok, you basically do this if you don't have to overbet the pot right? I we would be deeper, it would be c /c ?

Re: 3 bet pot AQ finds an ace high flop 100 NL, flop decision

raising all in on F is obviously pointless. calling on the flop is good, and if he has air he may keep firing which is good. not sure i like the turn c/r, i don't think are hand is big enough

Somehow I thought this was 200nl. Crai will be impossible. I'll probably call the raise and c/c the turn all in. If he's on a bluff he might fire again on the turn even though it doesn't seem very likely. We'll stack Ax and lose our stack vs AK/set anyway.

Re: 3 bet pot AQ finds an ace high flop 100 NL, flop decision

OK thx guys the consensus seems to be to stack this off by ch/calling. I played this hand a month ago and felt I misplayed it. I shoved flop and he folded, told me he had AQ (I believed him).
