Will the Trop (AC) ever serve real beer?
 

This is a rant. My apologies if you don't sympathize.

I like beer, real beer like Heineken, Sam Adams, etc. I like to play poker and drink beer. It's true and I don't deny it. Is that so wrong?

I get cheap rooms at Trop so I stay there. The problem is I don't like Natural Lite served in cups the size of urine samples. I also don't like slow cocktail waitresses that look like the Sea Hag and Alice the Goon.

I like Borgata. The Borg is a class act in every way. I can't get a cheap room at Borgata.

How do I solve this dilemma? Please don’t say stop drinking while playing cards.

Play at Hilton. They have bottled beer and cheaper (and nicer!) rooms than Tropicana.

I've walked over to the Hilton a couple of time. I went upstairs to their poker room. It looked nice but it was mostly empty. I think I saw a tumbleweed roll by.

Does Hilton get more action these days?

What do you play? If the answer is 1/2 NL, I think you'll like the action at Hilton. 2/5 NL is good also, but not always spread. It's true you won't find anything higher, or any Stud/Omaha.

I play NL 1/2 and 2/5. You play there often? How many 1/2 tables do they have going on a typical Saturday afternoon.

ok like i said, i like good beer. i loves flat tire and bass. I like a Guiness or two as well. but let's be real, the Trop is not going to switch from Natural Lite to Flat Tire.

my favorite beers are IPA's. Harpoon, Magic Hat, and Brooklyn being two excellent examples

When I visited my sister in Belgium my brother in law took me to out drinking. He turned me to Stella Artois, Duvel, Chimmay Ale, Hoegaarden and Trappiste to name a few.

I still drink Duvel occasionally however it is strong.

The Trop is the best if you like to drink and play. Slow waitress? Just walk over to the bar and get it yourself. Unfortunately I can't help you on the variety.

I just had Natty Boh last night.

At 100 degrees + last night, an ice cold Natty Boh hit the spot pretty well. We'll return to the usual beer later.

(I have to admit, though - Natty Lite? Is that even necessary?)

1) I was right about the FAT tire. Trying to save TT from showing a knowledge about beer does not make me the worst poster at 2+2

2) Budweiser is made from rice. Therefore logically it's not a beer (Barley, Wheat, Hops) Budweiser is a fake subsidy for ppl who farm rice. Also had that caffinated flop correct me if I'm wrong ?

3) If you wanna try to be balla drinking beer that's one thing. But if I played beer pong with Duval it would cost me about 46 bucks a game (outlandish) compared to 4-5 bucks a game with coors or some other crap beer.

4) If I can get duval at a casino or at a restraunt with my dinner that's one thing or EVEN for the fridge at home. (Not gonna happen (paulaner hefewizen fan ONLY CAUSE i CAN'T FIND A BETTER HEFE that beer distibutors carry)

5) You guys keep saying the Trop Serves Natty Light...... I t hought they were serving the BEAST. (Milwalkiieees best) for the duval drinkers. I was pretty sure before I moved to the west coast they had always served beast. Hell even the tap at the bar in the pokeroom said beast.

Do what I did. Buy a condo on the boardwalk.

I took my Borgata hotel money and use the $3,000 a month I saved (Fri and Sat nights staying at the Borg) and pay off the mortagage with the money left over from not paying for the hotel room.

Then I take $2.75 and buy the racing program adjacent to the poker room , get the free drink coupons, and sample the free pints of draft(Stella and Yeungling) beer with the frozen mugs, and take them back to the poker room so I can enjoy the games while drinking real beer.

You can get the bud drafts and the bottled Heineken and Corona right in the poker room, just no frozen glass.

I also recommend the free shots of Knob Creek Borbon with the free drink coupon from the horse room. I usually follow this with a Stella on my way out the door, back to my condo which I bought with the Borgata poker winnings.

Nice life, if you keep reading 2+2 and winning.

Take the escalator down, hang a left and pick up a pint at Firewaters. I've walked out of there with mugs and bottles lots of times and they haven't ever said anything. Not great if you don't like paying though.

extra Trop news: Hooters there has applied for a full liquor license and is already serving a couple of different kinds of shots. They're the breast!
