WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

Tonight's WPT tournament was the last tournament before the WPT World Championship, the Foxwoods Poker Classic. The final table featured:

Seat 1: Raj Patel - T3,347,000
Seat 2: Paul Matteo - T570,000
Seat 3: Fred Goldberg - T1,044,000
Seat 4: Seth Berger - T1,505,000
Seat 5: Allen Kessler - T444,000
Seat 6: Antonio "Bagels" Cavezza - T1,391,000

There appears to be only two more weeks of original broadcasts of WPT programming after tonight, the WPT World Championship and Poker by the Book II.

Should Raj have jammed the flop?

Given his cautious play on the turn, I expected him to fold the river.

So was Fred Goldberg's fold of 87s in the SB (depending on what his stack was....but it was only 65K more to him).

Had he not been paying attention to how Patel was playing? How was that not an instacall w/ the KK?

Kessler looks like he should be on to catch a predator. I also think I heard him say "I knew this was a set-up".

worst tv poker playing in tv history. It is better to watch the WSOP ME FT before hole-cams.

OMG, Raj is worse than Dick Van Patten. that A8 is the most brutal flop I've ever seen.

Re: WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

OH ... MY ... GOD ... This has got to be hands down the worst two hours of poker ever televised. After the first 40 minutes I had to watch the rest, just to see how bad it can get (pretty [censored] bad, as it turns out). Just try proving that poker is a game of skill after this debacle.

Re: WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

Just to pile on...what a horrendous poker display.....worst 2 hours ever. Ridiculous folds (the A in blind v blind on A93 flop Fred v Paul the worst...). The ridiculous over bet all ins with nothing....Seriously could list so many more, but worse than I expected and I expected bad!!!!

Raj gets the nominee for biggest lucksack ever!!!!!

^^i cringed when he didn't reraise with the jacks full against the 55 holder and then cringed more when he actually shared his thinking his opponent might have had KK...

Yeah, I changed the channel after that hand. I couldnt believe it. After the hand the AND1 founder was like 'He played it perfect.' LOLZ.

Re: WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

The entire show was pretty sad, but I thought one hand was pretty impressive. It was between Seth (KQ offsuit) and Raj (pocket 7's). I cant remember the exact details, but it went something like...

- Seth raised from UTG, and Raj called from the CO
- Seth checked in the dark, and the flop came 3,5,T
- Raj bet out
- Seth check raises him. Raj calls.
- Ace rolls off on the turn. Seth leads out, and Raj raises him.. to take it down.

Any comments?

RichGangi 08-02-2007 09:24 AM

Re: WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

Yeah, that was about the only hand Raj played that even remotely impressed me. I didnt like when he rolled his cards over after the hand, though.

Re: WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic thread

Seth bet almost 1/4 pot on the turn and Raj minraised him. The minraise was absolutely terrible.
