What do you have to do to get chat banned?
 

Just wondered. Considering the extent of my own profanity i can only assume because i play on crypto, who are desperate to keep any players they can, i can get away with it.

To anyone who has been banned - care to tell me why?

Usually, someone has to complain about what you said, and in many cases, it has to be a repeat offense to actually get chat banned.

Called Joy Miller an ugly clunt (clunt is exactly the way I spelled it) got 2 days ban here at 2+2.

I was railbirding the final table of a big event on FTP and while the final 2 were negotiating a deal, I typed in the chatbox "winner gets a handjob from Clonie Gowen". The next day I got an email from FTP support banning my chat for a month. I couldn't believe it. I know it was stupid, but to ban someone's chat. Whatever.

I've said ALLLL SORTS of bad stuff while playing on Stars. Never anything racist...and usually not too mean (I'll tell someone to go die occasionally) - but I'm extremely surprised I've never even had a warning.

Either nobody has reported me, or Stars loves me and doesnt care because I'm a high-volume player.

Ive got warned 3 times now at stars never got any sort of ban yet, last time I got warned it was for saying you lucky f***ing f***er (looking back this exchange of words doesn't make much sense) after a guy sucked out like 3 times in a row in a HU match and he instareports me to stars supports and I get a warning popup a few minutes later and then I sent stars support a email with a bunch of profanity and threatning to go play on tilt if they ever give me a warning again for typing asteriks.

this is what got me a 30 day chat ban. the rail was busting matusow's chops and he was losing, my comment didn't seem that bad but he turned me in to full tilt. come chat with the pros....lol

During a private BBV flipament some douchebag decided to grimm everyone and take the maximum amount of time to take each decision. I suggested that he withdraw his money from Stars, use that money to purchase a firearm, and "shoot yourself in the [censored] brain." I also mentioned that he might enjoy dying in a fire of grease.

I am a great fan of the c-word (for 2-outer beats), adding retard for runner-runner but i reached new levels of offence when two guys started critiquing plays at O8 and quite pleasantly just asked if they were f---buddies and suggested activities they might both enjoy. One threatened to report me and I'm thinking "So What?" - I mean there's a billion sites out there.

its impossible to get your chat banned at ongame network. believe me i have tried everything from racial slurs to claiming ive abused other players mothers. it seems like they really couldnt care less.

pretty much any site that has banned US players is easy pickings it seems. ongame doesnt even censor chat if memory serves correct. theres something satisfying about calling someone a total c--- without creative typing.

Then my chat got banned and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I was being a complete moron during an FTP table that involved Matusow and some random guy playing headsup. Was like an iron man tourny or something. Everyone was giving mike [censored], and I typed in:

over and over, heh.

Dunno why I was doing it, but people were laughing at the time and it just sort of fit the mood.
My chat got banned by Perry Friedman of all people, and it was a permanent ban. I actually found my game sort of improved online without the chat, so I never emailed FTP about unbanning me haha.
I do feel bad however when people say nice hand, or well played. I'd like to type in thankyou, but I can't. lawlz.

I got my bodog chat banned for telling a player that his a.sshole was probably looser than his mom's stank c.ooter. I emailed bodog a week later saying, "Dear bodog, give me my chat back. Now." 15 minutes later i had my chat back. I also had my chat banned on stars for quoting lyrics from Gnarkill's "Swab My Deck." I believe the line was "Wash your deck, show it good, wax that a.ss my legs of wood." I really didn't think that was ban worthy.

A bunch of us got our chat banned on Stars because we tired to berate a guy into leaving a table that was being used for a play money HU pushfest between GoT and I to decide who had to pay for dinner.

I think I specifically got nuked for either wishing AIDS on a guy or noting that "f u" was censored.

I got a chat warning from Stars for telling a fish baiter to "f off." I didn't say "[censored] off," I only used the letter "f." There was a lively and fun exchange of emails between support and myself which concluded with my asking if "frist off" would be acceptable. It is.

people that use the chat much are probably too personally involved to be winning players at higher limits. so i suggest you dont draw attention to yourself and make other players want to play their best against you. unless of course you are playing for just your ego and not to get rich.
