Muck

Stars $1/2. Villain is alainlapierre or something. Seen him or her around for a while. Think he/she use to play .50/1 and has moved up. Seemed ridiculously nitty to me in the past. No idea if alain has changed up its game.

I've been active and much more aggressive in the last week so I don't have a nitty image.

Standard?

Does anybody check/fold this flop? I know its ridiculous weak/tight but the more I think about it this person is really nitty and bad and I don't see him/her stabbing at this flop with anything but a hand I beat.

I wouldn't. Making him fold correctly is still better than giving him a free card, and IMO you're ahead often enough to just try to (rightfully) take the pot.

i really hate getting minraised in 3b pots but i think this looks good

FGators 07-27-2007 08:10 PM

Re: Muck

Yeah. From this type of player I think this minraise is scarier than an outright push. I think this could def. be 89,tens,77,or 66 more than even AA/KK.

Re: Muck

if this particular villain still plays the way he did @ 100nl, then nice fold sir.

gators, what if instead of looking for spots to fold vs nits you tried to change your game up so you were ecstatic to get it in any time you have a good overpair.

Sucks, but I think you made the right play. As you described them I think AT can be eliminated from their range.

Hey FGators. Off the subject. I hope your reading all these "My awesome hand vs that nit, FGators" threads and using all these preconcieved notions on how u play to take all these 2+2er's $$$$$.

Re: Muck

If he's really nitty (enough to make you b/f or c/f an all under flop) then just calling PF is ok I think. Also, I would rather c/c 1 street and c/f the turn than bet/fold. I dunno, Redd makes a good point though.

You should reconsider PF if this is the case.

What exactly does this mean?

I don't think I have a "good overpair" and I think the consensus is that getting it in here is suicide and is in need of some serious runner runner.

Maybe, he means that if villain is only calling a 3bet with AA/KK you can make more money just calling PF and getting his cbet on a nice flop + the times you make your set.

This may be right with TT as well.

But it's tricky to play when you flop an overpair and villain ALWAYS bet 2 barrels.

I think you make more or less the same benefit 3betting and calling but with the second you are obtaining a better image plus, you can steal some 3bet pots with a cbet thanks that you get the initiative.

Pls, correct me if I'm wrong.

The negative side is that you have more variance.
