I could be reading this wrong, but those stats are as compared to the internet average, right? So it's not that we have a high percentage of $100k earners, it's that we have more than twice the average of $100k earners on other sites. Which makes sense to me.

The stats don't mean that 2+2 users watch a lot of porn, just that porn sites have similar demographics (young, predominately male).
Also, the high score for 100k+ income doesn't mean that most of 2+2 viewers make 100k+. It means that compared to the internet average, 2+2 has more 100k+ viewers. Pretty much every conclusion in this thread is unsupported by the stats. |

There are plenty of 2+2'ers who are still in college or have dropped-out who are making a ton and that will be bring the average WAY up to compensate for all the current college-students and graduates who play super small-stakes full-time as well as the degenerates who just don't make that much. Remember, not all 2+2'ers are winning players. Lots of 'regular guys' who play their share of poker who happened to find these forums but still suck at the game and don't exactly make the largest of incomes. Some guy has been posting in the Florida B&M thread about how he sleeps in the park, etc and just plays poker all the time. It's easy to start to think this site is nothing but 22-year-olds who dropped out of college and are making $300k/yr but they are definitely the exception and don't include the number of bad players who go busto. |

If you look at those stats, 2p2 is way above average for income and way below average for education. So your argument that we're actually pretty average is kind of moot. |

Do you mean education with regards to age (i.e. lots of dropouts) or do you mean education as an absolute value? In that case, the relatively poor showing of college graduates compared to the internet average is likely due to the age demographics of 2+2 (mostly college students, once they graduate they have jobs and don't frequent as much). I have mixed feelings about that site because the comparison to the internet average is a really good metric, but causes so many people to misunderstand what the numbers mean. edit: In fact, you could easily make the argument that 2+2 visitors are much more educated than the internet average in every given age bracket. The Graduate+ degree bracket cannibalizes the College degree bracket both in absolute terms (those with both graduate and undergraduate degrees count as graduate), and relative terms (every gain the graduate sector makes in terms of 2+2 viewership consequently reduces the college share). Furthermore, the high level of those without a college degree is easily explain by age skewing (tons of visitors still in college). |

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's curious how they are able to compile such data and would also like to know how accurate it is. It's not like they are going to go reading through the threads on here to find the occasional situation where you, me or somebody else mention our age/income/education/race I wouldn't think. So do they magically know that I'm a 36-year-old white-guy in some other way? Did they eventually learn this just from scanning through a bunch of different posts of mine? Do they only have such stats for a handful of 2+2'ers and don't really know anything about me? Does it say somewhere on their website how they compile these stats? (I'm too stupid and unmotivated to find it myself) |
