Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
I read somewhere that Red Bull was only available to those playing higher limit games. Can anyone confirm/deny this? I find it hard to believe that they would limit drinks based on game.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
Confirm.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
This also goes for getting Fiji water.
This is correct but its kinda funny the way this happens. It is somewhat based on luck as well. Some examples. During a big tournament i was seated in the high limit area so even though i was able to get red bull, yet when i moved tables to outside taht area i was not able to. 20/40 holdem during the week is in the high limit room but on the weekends its not. Yet when they spread the 20/40 stud game on the weekends that is in the high limit room. |
Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
You mean the casino only gives you Red Bull & certain brands of bottled water if you're playing what they consider 'high limits'?? What kinda bullsh*t is that??

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
Not exactly BS, it's been said over and over again- the casinos make very little from the poker rooms compared to the regular table games and especially the slots. I think the main reason they have the rooms is because they want you to come to the casino and also gamble.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
shrug..casinos always give higher limit players perks, as far as I know, major casinos in practically every market have various incentives for HL poker players.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
In my neck of the woods you can get just about any beverage of your choice at the table regardless of what stakes you're playing. Obviously they're not gonna spring for Johnnie Walker Blue label or Christal at a 3/6LHE table but they will give you a Red Bull for pete's sake.

Confirmed

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
If you're not in the high limit room and ask for a Red Bull, they will tell you they don't even have it.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
What about those delicious sandwiches the high limit players get; I believe there from Wolgang Pucks restauraunt next door.
One Saturday they must have had new servers and the 2/5nl 10/20 limit players were getting the fed pretty regularly... It was like a feeding frenzy until the floor noticed. |

Going to put fish out of a job if they keep giving that stuff away |

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
Not saying that this is how they earned it but in order to qualify for a Balck label card at the borgata you need to earn 1000 comp dollars in a year. You get comped at $2 an hour playing poker at 10/20 limit and higher(might be 20/40) i can't remember and i don't know what 2/5 NL is comped at. So if you play at one of these games 500 hours in a year, 10 hours a week you can make black label.
Many probably have some table/slots action as well, but it is possible to do with the majority of it coming from poker. |

You have to earn 1000 comp dollars per year, so if you play a game that comps $2/hr, that's 500 hours/year, or 10 per week. |
Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
Another perk of the high limit room is you can eat at the table. I remember one time I played 5/10 on a Friday and got a redbull, then on Saturday I played 2/5 and was told they didn't have redbull, I was like wow I can't believe they don't have redbull anymore. Then somebody at the table tells me they only give redbulls out in the high limit room. So if you're not in the high limit room and want a red bull you're going to have to spring 5 bucks for one in one of their stores.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
Give some love for the desserts there - they are incredible. As are the rare roast beef sandwiches and fruit. Love it - but glad its only one hr on sats or I'd gorge myself all the time there.

I think it gets me more action because when Black-label regulars see it, they think I'm a small-stakes player taking a shot. Advantage: me. |

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
bally's sucks and they give free red bull at any limit table
hilton is 5 bucks a pop |
Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
You could get free red bull at the Trop too.

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
I've been wondering this now for awhile.

That fruit tastes like it comes straight from the farmer's market. In regards to the OP and others who whine about higher limit players getting Red Bull, Fiji, etc. - get over it. As has already been said a million times, casinos make very little profit from poker rooms. It's unreasonable to expect them to bend over backwards for everyone. |

I seriously doubt that having a Red Card creates a +EV table image for you, since half of the players in those games are brain dead anyway. |

As has already been said a million times, casinos make very little profit from poker rooms. It's unreasonable to expect them to bend over backwards for everyone. [/ QUOTE ] Can you please tell me where in my OP I was whining? I asked a simple question. I actually understand the logic behind it. Unlike a soda or mixed drink that may cost the casino $.25, Red Bull costs about $1.75 retail, so Borgata is probably paying $1 a piece. Sure, the player may tip $1/$2 dollars, but the waitress keeps that. If the waitress had to pay the house the cost of the Red Bull, none of them would serve it, as they would make no tips. I have never played poker at Borgata, and in fact, never stepped foot in Borgata until my last AC trip. All my play is at Trump Taj, where Red Bull is served to anyone playing. Now during my next trip, I plan to upgrade to Black Label using my Trump Card and maybe play some lower limit poker. My post was to inquire about something that I had heard but could not confirm, since it was a different situation then what I was used to experiencing. If I need a Red Bull that bad while I am playing, I'll stop at the Sunoco on the AC Expressway and pick up a four-pack. |

Re: Borgata Poker Room - Red Bull?
The other night I was watching a short handed $2-$4 game in my room and commented to the floor that the game was loosing money for the casino.here was virtually no action and barely any rake. In the mean time the casino had to pay a dealer and all the players were drinking alot, so between the labor cost and beverage cost the casino was paying more than it was raking.okingly I proposed a system where everytime a player bet they got a ticket, and they could save up there tickets to buy drinks. Want water thats 1 ticket, want to get the ultra expensive water that tastes exactly like the cheap water anyway thats three tickets. Want to get ultra premium vodka, thats 10 tickets.
