How about a multitabling forum?

There are always questions in various forums (fora?) about this. A lot of the FAQ could be included in a sticky (i.e., how do you set up two monitors using Vista?).

I can see all kinds of discussion in this area, from technical questions, to how many tables can you add and still be a good player, what about notetaking and multitabling, when should you move up instead of adding tables, etc.

Also, as more sites pop up or improve their software, people will have questions about that. Or, questions about how it was as players moved up from 4 tables to 8. When did they know they were maxed out? What about doing cash and tournaments at the same time?

Mutitabling is such an important "profit center" now that I believe it deserves its own forum.

There simply isn't enough good questions about multitabeling to justify a dedicated forum.

Really everything that is asked is independant.
ie some may be able to play 30tables at once while some of us can only do 4...

when to move up is also dependant upon what your goals are...
get better vs make money...

Assume if I 4 table 25NL for i make $25 an hour.
Should I take a potential pay cut and move up to 2 tables of $50NL?
if I never move up I wont get to the potential winrate I could at $100NL + but I can be comfortable with my $25 an hour.

etc..

All,

Is one tables too many for me to play while I listen to music and weep softly while masturbating?

Re: How about a multitabling forum?

Is the weeping really necessary?
If so then does it have to be soft?

MicroBob,

I live in a condo and I'd prefer the neighbors not hear me cry. I also turn the porn down to barely audible levels for the same reason.

if you do this you also have to make a single-tabling forum obv

while there may be plenty of newbie questions to ask, there isn't atually any substantial discussion about any of it, ssince it all comes down to "it depends" and "whatever you want"

Re: How about a multitabling forum?

Clearly we need 4 different forum types

single tabling
2-4 tables
4-8 tables
8+ tables

Obviously these would be divided by game type so you'd have
High stakes limit single table
High stakes limit 2-4 tables
High stakes limit 4-8 tables
High stakes limit 8+ tables
Medium stakes Limit single table...

And so on

I would like to put myself forward as mod of the

"Medium stakes no limit 6 max 4-8 tables" forum I look forward to your support.

There is a sit-n-go forum, which certainly covers that.

Ok, I give up! I bow to the superior wit and sarcasm of all of you brilliant minds out there who can instantaneously compute your pot odds to four decimal places.

Just be on notice that when I'm ready to do more than four tables, I'll be bugging you with all my questions that could have been answered on the sticky.

You have been warned!

Ok but you're gonna have to put up with "superior" wit and sarcasm then too. That's kinda how things work around here for better or worse.

Re: How about a multitabling forum?

As a somewhat potentially helpful reply,
CTH (computer technical help) has a decent FAQ about the technical aspects of multitabling mainlly monitor resolution and number of tables..

AFAIK stars, party, and full tilt are the main sites with resizable tables and decent interfaces... try multitabling on a site like Ultimate Bet... its alot more challenging..

A good set up is key to multitabling and playing at a level you can beat somewhat easily. I.E. dont take shots with 12 tables open when you 12 table normally.

Re: How about a multitabling forum?

The STT (single table tournaments) forum has a couple of stickies with some helpfull advice for multitabeling. Reading the software forum is also a good way of keeping up with the newest AHK-sripts and other stuff that will assist you in your quest..
