Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
Same session. I'm bored tonight, so I figured I may as well post a few hands as I go. Hopefully my opponents aren't reading as I do so.

Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
std, i do this with a the 9 high flush draw too sometimes
|
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
Ick, really BZ? I feel like no pair will ever fold and another ace high will only sometimes and its 3 ways, seems like a spew considering you could be drawing dead and you will call a turn 3 bet anyway.

Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
i feel like 3 ways given how i play, patrik would fold A high when i do this. you'd be surprised how many ppl fold on double paired boards cuz they're like "no way can he be bluffing into 2 ppl!"
HU it's a toss up, there are times when i do it and don't do it. |
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
also im never calling a turn 3bet lol hope you were joking abt that part
|
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
Ok so then we are ignoring the flush draw we picked up and just flat out bluffing?

Ok so then we are ignoring the flush draw we picked up and just flat out bluffing? -DeathDonkey [/ QUOTE ] well, it's an interesting situation, because some people will call with A high/any pair here, and others will instamuck those. so if we arent sure how our opponent plays, we can checkraise here partially for fold equity and partially because if he's ahead with pair/A high then we have a bunch of outs to improve (between 9 and 15, also 4 outs to split usually.) he needs to fold a very small % of the time for this to be a profitable c/r IMO. also if he 3bets we're drawing dead. why would we call the turn then? |
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
also make sure you don't get caught doing this too much with whatever you have (a high, pairs etc) because if your opponent starts playing this correctly against you with full houses, then it starts becoming really -EV

Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
If I have a J here I just call the turn and pound the river because you are OOP and will have to bet the river if you wanna win that POT... I think it's a pretty gross play 3 handed. It might work from time to time but at 200/400 I bet you don't have as many fold as you are hoping for...

Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
I play 40/80 and lower. Unless there is some major postflop flaw in my opponent, I don't 3 bet low suited aces vs. co openers no matter how laggy they are pf.
Mistake? |
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
Against most though CO I def fold A4s in the SB. But I don't play 200/400 so ..
|
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
So it makes more sense to do it at 200/400 where they are probably laggier and more showdown bound than normal? it doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, my opinion is that the pf 3 bet is no good. |
Re: Flush Draw on Double Paired Board
Well he might put the button on a steal, and is trying to shut out the BB. Normally this would still be a dicey situation to be playing A4 like that, but I guess it all depends on what you know about the opponents.
