Deep stacked $200 Plo8 Hand

This is my first ever post on this site so i do apologies if the structure of my post or my poker jargon is not quite be up to scratch.

I have started playing this game about 2 weeks ago and have been playing quite alot on stars of the 6 max plo8, usually around the 0.5/1 and 1/2 level, and my general style i would say, is with all my poker is extremly lose aggresive. Anyway to the hand.

The game is 1/2 plo8, and my stack is $478, the villian in this hand sensor who just covers me, who i've seen and played with quite alot, and i'm sure some of u guys may know him.. he seems to be quite decent, although a bit to weak tight for my liking..

Anyway i'm in the small blind with Ad 2d 5c qc
sensor is in the cut off.
Everyone but the UTG player limps and i raise pot to $12. Mp1 calls and sensor calls. so pot is $40

Flop comes 6c-7d-td

I bet $30, MP1 who's stack is $102 flat calls it and sensor re-pots it.

My read is that MP1 has some kind of low draw, possibly with flush or straight outs as well, and sensor may either have a-2-8-9 or a-2 with a set, since i cant imagine him calling pre-flop with anything else.

Is this an easy fold here??

Re: Deep stacked $200 Plo8 Hand

hmmm.. what about the fact that the realative short stack most likly has a low hand as well, and i am approx 41% againt a-2 and a set, and in my mind there is NO chance sensor has a-3-8-9 or a-3-set... ??? IS this really the best spot to be committing 240 bets???

how the hell are you "loose aggressive" you are acting like a nit

i'd say i'm lose aggressive cause on every table i play, especially in this game i end up raising pre. and c-betting more then anyone i know.. Guess i'm acting like a nit partially due to my tendencies of being result orinetated. I did end up shoving
Sensor did have a-2-t-t and the short stack had as i suspected As 2c 4d jd, which meant that my ev was 26.5. Which doesnt seem to me the best place to be putting in 240BB's

Welcome to PLO8. You gotta shove with big draws and push small edges a lot. Occasionally you're in a lot worse shape than you think, but that's Poker. You have such an easy shove with your hand.

If you plan folding this flop then dont pot it preflop!!!

And on flop I couldnt get my money in any faster.

You can be only slightly behind at worst.
38% equity vs made set + nut-low, 45% equity vs set + worse low.

The fact there is MP also makes the situation alot better.
If you hit your flush there is additional yummy 100 bucks for you.

Unless I've misread this, who gives a flying fark about the short stack? Build a huge side pot with the other guy.

Re: Deep stacked $200 Plo8 Hand

I agree with not raising pot preflop from blinds if the limpers really are tight and only play top hands.
Its unlikely in 6max that you're out against hands that good and you're basing your analysis on results

I played a hand earlier today. I had A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I potted preflop and the flop came 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I went all in instantly because it was NLO8. I got called in 2 places. One had 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and the other had A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I lost because the turn and river bricked and I wouldnt change a thing.

Sometimes you run into a big hand when you got a pretty big hand yourself, stuff happens. If you cant push on your flop with your hand you shouldnt be playing this game.

Of course I agree that this is a no brainer shove in OP's scenario, but I'm not sure I can go along with you completely on your quoted statement Jorge when it comes to playing in a NL game, like your example-- particularly if there are deep stacks involved like OP was alluding to.

Risking 50-100 times the size of the pot with an overpair and a draw to half the pot is not really an indispensible strategy to deep stack NL games. IMHO

if you had the nut flush draw i wouldn't debate this play, but i think it would be best to at least try and play a small pot in this spot.

I was just trying to think of a recent hand where a flop looked pretty damn good and I happened to run into something bad.

Despite the deepish stacks, I get in here 100% of the time.

Just for the kids playing at home, this is not an example of prime NLO8 play.

In OPs case it's an easy shove (or flat call if you are closing the action and are pretty sure you can still get it all in if you hit on the turn).
