How do I nap at work?
I have a cube and it's right next to a door so people are always walking by. How can I sleep in my chair but make it look like I'm just staring at the screen? Is there a website where it looks like someone doing busy work like a flash movie or something?

this is what i did at an internship last year. i would keep unplugging my ethernet cable and the cubicles around me. people would complain and i said i used to fix computers in high school. i would plug everyone back in and say I needed to reinforce the connections. i would then lie down under the cubicle and put my head on some magazines behind the computer and rest. an ode to fav character of all time, COSTANZA

I just take naps on in the bathroom stalls. Toiletpaper rolls are amazingly comfortable.

I usually do the sleep sitting up and wake up as people pass. Definitely an acquired skill, but necessary for the 9 to 5ers that like to stay out late.

I think you can do a bunch of very short rests and never get caught.
Just close your eyes for a good 5 seconds and open them real quick. If you do this for like 15 minutes you'll feel pretty rested. If anyone asks what you're doing say something went in your eye. It would only look weird if someone managed to watch you for a while (but you're opening your eyes often so this shouldn't happen). |

Do what I do and everyday at lunch just go out to your car and sleep for 30 minutes, come back in and eat lunch for another 30 minutes, not getting yelled at for an hour break when we're only supposed to have 30 mins is pretty sweet.

I just sit back and close my eyes and sleep. If your boss gives you gruff tell him he'd be tired too if he got his aces cracked on the bubble of a donkament at 3:30am and was so pissed he couldn't fall asleep.

Bathroom trick works wonders. Bring a coat or something else to rest yuor head on. Use your phone as an alarm.

We had an intern one summer who got caught sleeping in the bathroom. He did not receive an offer.

Also, I think the intern admitted to it, but I'm not sure. |

Guy at my job gets to sleep because he has narcolepsy...
He will be mid sentence typing or talking and will just fall asleep.. maybe try to convice them you have this? |

A friend of mine used to work at Office max and would trade off taking naps in the bathroom stall with the manager.
He also helped him steal stuff. |

my "friend" used to sleep at work in the stall.
The bathroom stall nap only works if you don't snore and set your cell phone alarm. If you snore, then it'd be obvious to people who walk into the bathroom that you're asleep. Also, I'd say only a 15 minute nap would be acceptable, otherwise it seems you're not pooping. I have flexible hours at work, so I can work from 8 am - 12 pm, 1.30 pm - 5.30 pm... If you have them, why not nap during the day in your car? |
