Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

I have a few questions about this Ironman promotion on FTP...

1) I think I understand how the medals work, if you have 25 days in one month where you have 100 or more Ironman points, you become an Ironman, right?

- does it matter if you miss a day? and what happens if you only play 20 days, but make say 300 points the days you play?

2) If you play a ton, can you earn more medals than the schedule, or just the schedule (including the schedule's increased monthly medals for maintaining status...)

3. Does it take away from rakeback? And if so, is it worth it?

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

There're different levels of ironman that award different amounts of medals. If you look at the FTP page on it, it explains them.

If you play one day and earn 5k points, that isn't sufficient. You have to make over 200 per day for 25 days to make the highest level.

It doesn't take away from rakeback. It's not worth a great deal though, I wouldn't let it sway my decision on whether to play for a day or not.

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

1. 200+ points a day for 25+ days per month gets you iron man. fewer points / fewer playing days gets you lower tier levels until a certain point where you get just nothing. Earning more points in a day than the 200 bar doesnt earn you credit towards other days. One day with 10,000 points is the same for ironman as one day with 200 points.

2. Just the schedule, although you can choose the bonus medals instead of the monthly freeroll and that'll always get you a few extra medals.

3. Bonuses that you buy with ironman tokens are taken out of rakeback just like any other bonuses on FTP. Tokens/FT points redemptions are not counted against mgr but the points are counted against mgr when you eventually use them in the store or for a freeroll entry.

Hope that helps.

All of their promotions take away from mgr

Support at FTP said they sometimes make exceptions for the 25 days, but I was under the impression that you needed MASSIVE play. Like 50k points

Thanks, I will try emailing them. I will only be only 1 day short this month, so it hurts extra hard.

I have also wondered about this, if you go Ironman a couple months in a row and then get gold, does it count as 3-4 months in a row of gold or just one month of gold after that month?

the $600 bonus is 3000 medals in the iron man store. do i understand correctly that i would have to earn "iron man" status for 16 consecutive months to receive enough medals to claim this bonus?

Are we ABSOLUTELY certain that this is correct?
It could cause some harm if we assume it is and turns out not to be true.

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

I just received comfirmation from FT support that you only need to qualify for one of the levels to maintain the amount of months you have been part of the IM promotion.

To FTSean, sorry about the little sarcasm on my earlier post, the only thing you guys are guikty of is not being very clear when you write the rules

FT's email (part of it):

Even if you do only qualify for 24 days this month, you will still make
Gold status for July. Qualifying for Gold will still allow you to earn medals,
and even keep your medal count at the 4-6 month level. You will lose out
on 50 medals by not making Iron, but it's just for this month. Next
month you can qualify for Iron again without any problems.

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

This is what I think is so lame about Full Tilt. If you earn 5k points in one day why not give that person "IronMan" for that month. What difference is it to you Full Tilt if a player earns 5000points in one day or 5000 points in 25 days? Stars gives you your status based on how many points you earned that month, not how many days you played. So retarded in so many ways. Stupid little things like this is the reason you will always be in the shadow of PokerStars in players eyes.

It's logical to the players, but would probably lose money for FTP in the long run. DUCY?

The promo is not designed for hard core players. It is for the casual player who'll play for an hour after dinner. And it doesn't make sense comparing Iron Man to FPP because Full Tilt also offers the regular points store and rakeback.

I think it would be SUPER COOL if full tilt added another "higher level" for iron man. It's just SOOO incredibly easy for me to get iron.

Like make it 25 days at 1,000 points. It'd increase my play, increase my motivation, and make me a happy camper

Even if it was for only $20 more a month or something super small...just be cool to get iron man elite or something.

The main difference is that a player's not likely to earn exactly 200 points for 25 days. They'll sit and play until they hit at least 200 points, but they may continue even longer.

For me, playing 60-90 minutes to fulfill the 200 points is about the right amount of poker for a day, so i only earn around 6000 points a month (25 x 240 pts/day) so it's not much of a difference. Others similarly playing FT for making Ironman might earn twice as many points because they won't quit right at 200.

This works nicely for me, because only 220-280 people play in the Ironman freeroll every month in the current promotion. Changing it to 5000/month (or even a hybrid 200 on 25 days or 10K/month) would qualify many more players, which would lower my EV in the freeroll.

Fair enough.

I think it's a great promotion as is, but I'm obviously biased.

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

i just really want some way to uncap the medal earning, like an extra 5 medals for each 1k points over 5000 you earn total for the month if you make the 25 days. that way, the iron man store almost becomes somewhat reasonable.

That would makes sense from Full Tilt's standpoint...though 5 Medals is only worth a dollar.

You certainly have a point that they can certainly enhance the existing promotion to encourage single-day binge playing. For example, give 10 Medals for earning 500 points in a day, 25 Medals for 1000. Those are very small rewards, but it might encourage people to play longer than they would otherwise. Volume awards for weeks (2000 & 5000 points?) and (10K, 20K, etc) months work too.

They did have the WSoP freeroll for people who earned 3000 (5000?) points in a single week, which covers the same volume player territory. I don't know if they have anything similar planned post-WSoP.

I'm biased, but Full Tilt having a Super Degenerate award for someone who qualifies for the Iron level every month within a calendar year would be quite lovely.

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

I'm a little puzzled that people are comparing the 200 pts/day on FT to the vip levels on stars. Are you all then attacking stars for making you play every month instead of allowing you to load up on 12x points the first month and maintain your gold status all year? It's the same exact concept with a different time frame. FT just has a slightly different aim then stars it would seem.

BradleyT 07-10-2007 04:08 PM

Re: Full Tilt Ironman Questions...

PennDisc,

There's a huge difference. At stars you could take a three week vacation and still make GoldStar over the weekend. At FTP you can't make anything.

FTP should make the slowest day of the week "Ironman Double Day". So if you earn 400 points for that day it counts for two 200 point days. With 4 or 5 of those per month that would really help people that take vacations or whatnot.

I disagree...I think it's suppose to be "hard" to get..and their current system is fine with me.

I just wish they'd have a crazy man's level or something.

So far this week I've earned over 3,000 points a day...but I still don't get anything special

Even if 1K extra points a day was 5 medals, it'd make me HAPPY

FTPDoug/Sean: Are you guys going to come out with any new promotions soon? When you did the WSOP seat giveaways, the alternative option was to receive 75 Ironman Medals every week I earned 3k points. However, now those are gone. I'd love to see a new promotion like that.
