Top 5 HSNLHE Players
 

Alright…it’s independence day and I’m sitting up in my labatory (take that whatever way you want to) and while watching some Judge Alex with pop radio in the background (take that whatever way you want to), I came up with another idea for a meaningless post. Ok, so we all know who the good high stakes NLHE players are for the most part. I’m thinking about doing something completely andoriginal and organizing them into a top SIHPNFPA (stick integer here please; no floating points allowed) list. For the sake of simplification, we’ll select a pseudorandom integer to replace the cumbersome acronym SIHPNFPA. Here are my calculations. There are 9 planets in the solar system, and 2 people currently typing this post. The average human being has 6 fingers on each hand, 2 heads, and our country has 1 competent president. 9 + 2 + 6 + 2 + 1= 22. 2 + 2 = 5. Hm… a top 5 list. That seems fairly original to me. Here is my list. w00t.

2. Krantz
3. Play2Kill
4. Durrrrrrr
5. CTS

Do the HSNL players consider Ivey to be one of the top NL players online? His track record is decent.

If they do, it's pretty amazing that a guy who probably doesn't even know what Pokertracker is, and spends a fraction of the time playing NL, is considered among the top.

Nothing against Krantz, but I think even he would admit he shouldn't be up in a Top 5 list. Not because he doesn't have the skill, but rather because he just started playing the nosebleeds. I can recall alot of players who ran hot when they first started taking shots and everyone thought they were god, but they ended up being mere mortals. The same goes for CTS. Both are great players and I would love to be in their situation, but 1 good month does not make a nose bleed God. So with that in mind:

(1) aba; biggest winner in the game over a long time
(2) Ivey; sucks that he shortstacks sometimes though
(3) durr; played the games forever and is still a nice winner, though he really should stop playing PLO.
(4) ????? (maybe Stinger??)
(5) ?????? Nobody has sustained the threes play over a significant period.

Guys like Krantz, CTS, whitelime have done really well, but the sample size is too small.

Stinger is probably the 2nd best african american player in poker though, behind ivey. He really has no equals on stars.

I wasn't leveling. Go thru highstakes d.b. Month to month. See who started off hot and then declined.that being said I DO think he is a great player and he does deserve a lot of respect for what he has done, but in my view a great player has to prove it over a long time at big stakes(he has proven it at lower stakes tho). Just wanna see him be Consistent at those stakes.

flattering that some ppl put me up there but results from one month only shouldn't put me in the same group as some of those guys. especially because guys like aba will play anyone and i'm being pretty nitty about good game selection since taking my shots.

my top 5 in no particular order: aba, cts (less experience than the others at 200/400 but could aba really do what he does/did at the lower limits?), antonius, jinsokkp, durrr

Its amazing that guys like BldSwTtRs, GoG, Samo, etc get left off lists like these just cause they don't play nosebleed stakes.
