Kobayashi really looks like he's hurting. Chestnut focused. This is going to be a blowout.

Kobayashi spit out his food during the last 2 seconds. They finished tied, but they might take awaay Kobayashis last hot dogs.

Kobayashi's performance was probably the most courageous thing since Willis Reed in the 1970 NBA Finals.

Cool, Chestnut brings home the title.

Wasn't the record last year around 58-59 and now it's 66? Did these guys have stomach expansion surgery?

Obvious leveling, the Willis Reed performance is the most overrated in sports history.

Willis Reed scoring 4 points (all in the first quarter) don't come close to Kobayashi.

I think they gave them smaller hot dogs and buns. Otherwise the sudden massive jumps make no sense.

Fixed!

Yeah wtf indeed. Do people consider competitive gluttony a sport? It's the one "sport" where you don't have to be in good shape to win.

What a completely ignorant statement. Elite competitive eaters are incredible athletes and are in great shape. You would be lucky if you had one tenth of the heart and determination that is needed to make it on the competitive eating circuit. Look at Kobayashi, he is 5'6" 155 lbs. of pure muscle with at most 6% bodyfat. I guarantee that he is better shape than you and a lot of baseball players who are heralded as incredible athletes. The bottom line is that packing away as much food as these guys do is an amazing athletic achievement. There is nothing in the definition of sport that specifically disqualifies eating. If anything, competitive eating is more of a sport than swinging a metal club at a stationary ball.
