1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

Sats pay 11 T$ to top 4, Turbos are 14 for first, 10 second, 7 third, 5 fifth, 3/2 sixth/seventh.

I'm thinking I can abuse the sat more, especially on a FT. Big stacks that I want to avoid tangling with with FE will fold, and when I'm the big stack (frequent occurance, but in the turbo even my big stack is a crapshoot), I can fold to my pay.

However, one is twice as fast as the other, which affects my hourly. I'm unsure of where to best invest my time?

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

Bleh; after a few hours of playing my general consensus is that I hate 10 minute blinds in a 45 because it diffuses my aggression ramping with the levels and keeping my tables confused.

That + I'm pretty sure these sats are not as soft as the turbos simply on fact that the people who have realized they exist can breathe, which puts them above half the field of a typical 45.

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

I think if you want to play sats you are better off with the 2.20's that pay a bunch of entries. They have turbos and regular speed so whichever you prefer.

MJBuddy 07-02-2007 12:52 AM

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

Yeah pretty much what I'm sticking to.

I can easily grind these 2.20s all day too, the lower variance will be enjoyable.

Yeah, and it shouldn't be hard to get 30 or 40 seats this week.

Except when...twice in one night I get called down by huge donks with nothing and get sucked out on.

Are these SNGs or hourly MTTs or what?

And I'm assuming these are to the 10$ buyin 100k garonteed thing? This is rediculous. I'm playing this every week. When does it run??? (Ive been out of town for the weekend and am at work now)

One last question, if you are already registered for the 10$ tourney, and win another seat, they ship you the 11$ T$ right away instead of having to unregister every time??

Thanks for the info

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

These sats are redic easy. I scored 2 seats out of 3 sats. The only one I lost, I was CL in and ran KK into 2nd places AA, then proceeded to lose 44 to 66 the next hand (had 20% of stack in in BB). So...definate bankroll builder. The only thing is, they do last a long time compared to the 1.10 turbos. That break is just killer. IT should be removed pronto.

Other than that quite happy and cant wait to play with all of these morons on sunday!!!

I didn't even play a hand at the FT in the sat I got a seat in. Knocked out a decent sized stack in 11th to get to ~14k then folded in. Was 2/9 going in with 1st and 3rd on my left so I just let them blow up the small stacks. 1st place guy ended up imploding and going out 5th even though he got to 20k at the FT lol.

The 2.20's only seem to run at night, around 18:00 or 19:00 server time. They don't last much longer than the 1.10/45's since they end up paying out ~50 seats.

Last night 2.20s started in the afternoon and ran every two hours until later that evening when it ran 1/hour or so. I caught the last one this morning at 10 or so (busted 36th; 30 paid lawl; triple bad beats + card dead while I watched....horrible bubble play); keeping eyes open for others popping up.

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

Sadly, I could not win a 2.20 tonight.... I played 2. I had to qualify in a 1.10 instead. Had the biggest donk ever to my right, then changed tables and he was to my left. He called everything and I mean everything and almost qualified. Sokay, I used that against him and took from his stack in some key situations to build to 48M at final table. Only had to play a couple of hands and put out the 5th place finisher.

MJBuddy 07-04-2007 01:48 AM

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

I've been running so bad in these; immensely :P.

However, finally took two down back to back and won back all my losses....I like sats....a lot.

Honestly, I fully plan to grind out the 2.20 permanently. It's soft as all hell (bad flipping variance = running bad), and it's possible to have an M lower than .04 and still win...I saw 10 guys get away with it tonight.

Edit: and the 2.20s look to be officially running 24/7 now.

The 2.20's give out 40-50 seats and the 1.10's give out 4.

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

Don't laugh, but I'm currently grinding $1.20 STTs. (OK, go ahead and laugh. Easily beatable even with the 20% rake, and I'm building a roll after turning 3000 play chips into $12. Bankroll management FTW.)

I throw in one of these $1.10s along with 2 $1.20 STTs per session now, but I'll never beat them if I don't stop BLUFFING GODDAMN CALLING STATIONS and running bad with big pairs. 0/3 so far, but the play is possibly worse than the play money games.

Does it involve selling them on ebay? Freerolls? Something else?

Re: 1.10/45 Sats vs 1.10/45 Turbos

So, what do you guys think? 1/45 reg vs 1/45 sat? I think the sat will be sweet. Altough ending first in the regular isn't that hard either (and +4$).

And I would love to see the $2.2 in 15 minute blinds. They might take too long but reduces the crapshoot near the bubble alot.

By the way, the 100k has a maximum of 15000 participants. But at the current rate and seeing that the sats are getting more popular too I guess the limit will be reached before sunday. What will happen to the sats? Will you just get straight T's or do they get canceled?
